This is a gorgeous pen. This Diamond 580 RGII has a 1.1 stub nib. It has made me forget about some more costly pens that I thought I wanted. I got this pen from The Pen Gallery, yesterday. I can't put it down.

(It is hard to photograph so I borrowed a picture form Pen Gallery)

It is my daily writer so I have Pilot Black in it right now. I will find some other blacks, but this is a good, basic dark black and goes well with the looks of the pen.

I fell in love with this pen before they made this pen!

To explain:
I caught sight of the 2014's release of their D580 Black (opaque) and Rose Gold (v 1.0) online and mourned that I'd missed its release and run.

I was still scouring the secondhand online venues for one that I could afford when TWBI announced the coming release of the Smoke/Rose Gold II. Apparently the Rose Gold v 1.0 had plating issues that had taken them a few years to iron out.

That announcement was in roughly August that year and a Christmas/New Year's release was promised. Instead of the 580, they released the Eco in Smoke/RG first around March the following year, then a couple more models before they finally released the 580 in that color. It didn't matter. I bought the Eco and the 580 as they were released and I haven't regretted it one bit.

My 580 is contiuously inked with either Diamine Onyx Black or Iroshizuku Take Sumi, depending on whichever is closest to hand when I need a refill.

I have several Eco's, but not that one. I do have the rose gold Diamond 580, thought, as well as the smoke version. I love TWSBI. They write smmoootthhly and I can leave them inked for a long time and they write first time when uncapped.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.

Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
