Those pens look very cool! What a temptation!

Yeah, they're expensive, but so beautiful--and of course, they have a warranty. :)   I keep visiting the website occasionally and drooling.  Someday they're going to have one available that I just can't resist.

Mine has been shipped and is on the way. I guess I need a new bottle of ink to try...just because. 😀

Please do a review once you have it in hand.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Speaking of glass pens, I just saw a bunch of Jinhao 82 (the one that looks like a Sailor, in case the number is incorrect) with a glass nib on AliExpress for cheap.

I have one of the Herbin glass pens.  I was at a party at a friend's house a number of years ago, and another friend brought it and was trying to find a home for it, so I said I'd take it.  It came with 2 small bottles of ink in the box but I don't know if they're the "regular" Herbin inks or the dip-pens only stuff.

I couldn't get the pen to write at all, though.  A guy I used to know used to collect glass pens, but I don't know how to get hold of him, to ask him what I was doing wrong.

A few years ago I saw a glass-nibbed fountain pen in an antiques mall a couple of hours or so northeast of me, but I was afraid to buy it because I hadn't been able to get the dip pen to work....

I have one of probably a cheap type (came in a cutesy set I fell for in high school).  Mine doesn't work (high-school dreams of romantic poetess-ness: dashed).  It seems the glass pens can have an issue where the "swirls" that hold the ink don't go far enough to the tip to actually deliver the ink to where it needs to be.  Having looked at mine in a loupe, I think this is the case.  (Conversely, I bought another as a gift for a friend a year ago and tested/looked at it before gifting to make sure, and it worked.)  Apparently one can grind the tip a bit to get to the swirls.  I'm not that brave (though I guess worst that happens is I make it unusable in a different way?).  I've tried running a needle firmly down the end of the swirls hoping to extend them further (scratch the glass, basically)... I think that'd take a lot of work and patience, if it even worked at all.

It reminds me of Private Reserve Pearlescent Series Blue-Silver ink. Super pretty!

Yeah, it has a pastel blue with a bit of silver in it. It reminds me of my old muscle car in color from my high school days.

That’s rad. My Camaro wasn’t nearly as cool (Black ‘87 RS).

The RS was a nice car, with and without T-tops.

It was fun while it lasted, poor thing took quite a beating while I learned to drive.

I did some writing using Diamine Bougainvillea ink (beautiful stuff). I found I need a light touch when newly inked, but can use more normal pressure after the first few words.  It writes pretty good and it will be perfect for the reason I bought it...testing inks. I was able to wash it simply by running water over it. Cool.

I’m glad that it’s working well for you. I love using it for ink swatches on a Col-O-Ring, and writing in my ink journal.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
