Neue Gray paper brand -- have you tried it?

This brand or line of paper had a booth at the recent San Francisco pen show. When I stopped by the two people at the booth could barely speak English, but the paper looks interesting, so I bought a package of 50 sheets of A3 paper. My intent is to make an A4 notebook out of it. But I haven't done that yet, and I haven't written on any of it yet (I should have also bought something smaller to try out, but I didn't think of it at the time).

So, any experience with this paper, and what did you think of it?

For more background information, I believe the concept of the brand revolves around the cool, bluish-grey color that they say is calming and pleasing to the eye (and improves your mood and ends wars, naturally). I got a pack of A5 paper after trying it out at their booth. It has handled my fountain pens wonderfully—no feathering or bleedthrough. The paper is smooth but not slick—just slightly more tooth than Maruman paper. I’d say it’s 80ish gsm (based on comparisons to Yamamoto Paper samples that have their paper weight listed).

They also had some lovely washi notebooks/notepads (with inclusions made of cardboard? This is where my memory gets faulty) bound with red thread. Unfortunately, they were not very fountain pen friendly, so I passed on those.

I bought a A5 memo pad (blank, 50pages) at JPY 990 (roughly USD6.54) because the light grey color was pretty cool
But overall IMO it is just so so.  The paper is not strong on showing shimmer or sheen (which is very important to me)
There are a lot other better choices in that price range in the Japan paper market. Personally I think the paper pad in Daiso would perform better than it (also way cheaper )

Hi @Paul-in-SF  I have this paper in two versions, one in a B5 notebook, and one as a 100-pack of swatch cards, a collaboration between Pent Pen-House and them. The swatch card is a much higher GSM cardstock version of their paper, similar to Colo-ring.

Both are great, I pretty much use the Pent Inktionary (great name) as my current one and only swatch card, though I have a few.

The notebook paper version holds up pretty well, and I can get it to sheen and shade pretty easily, but keep in mind I rarely use any pen nib lower than a B. Cannot speak for M/F/EF writers. Still early days, I've only tested it with a couple of inks and pens.
