The Platinum cartridge fits the nipple, but is too long for the barrel. The cartridge doesn’t sit as deep in the section in the Morison as it does in a PK-1000. Is my only fix to cut an empty cartridge down and affix a sac to the cut? Is there a shorter version of a Platinum cartridge or any dim corner of the internet where I might find a Morison cartridge?

I did just find out that the PK-100 barrel firs the Morison section and cap, so I might just switch barrels; but I would love an alternative.

Until you find a better solution, do you have short Parker cartridges?

Their opening are 3,4mm wide compared to 3,5mm for the Platinum so that will be a tight fit, but in the meantime it should work.

(alternatively, any short Chinese 3,4mm cartridge can do too)

(I'm pretty sure you checked there wasn't anything stuck in the pen?)

I don’t have any short Parkers, but they’re easy enough to get. I do have plenty of the Chinese 3.4 mm ones, I think I may even have an empty one to check for fit. Thanks, I’ll try it.
I tried to see if there was anything stuck in there, but I can’t see very well, I have to look at it with my magnification goggles.  The section looks really shallow in comparison to the Platinum.

Well I hope you'll find a solution.

I believe the Parker have a softer plastic at the opening, compared to Chinese 3,4mm - Lamy are even softer but they are too long I suppose.

By the way, what's the point of Parker short cartridges? Is there a Parker pocket pen?

Oh, I see. The more malleable plastic end might stretch better to fit. I may try to see if an empty Parker long cartridge fits and order the shorts if it does. I don’t know what pens the Parker shorties are made for, all of mine take the long ones.

I found out what pen the shorts are for- the Parker Esprit.

So this ended well, I think I may have put the wrong barrel on the Morison, both it and the Platinum arrived together. Thanks to @Number99 for spotting the issue.

That's good news! And now I can rest in peace about the Parker short cartridges :)

Funny, that sent me down a rabbit hole and now I want a Parker Esprit.  I’m so happy that I don’t have to go looking for a  solution.

Haha, another rabbit hole?

In any case, it's not worth looking (as I did) for mini Parker red cartridges that were discontinued...the ink just looked like Waterman Audacious red (and as the cartridges were made in France, that would make sense that they only have one red).

Morison pens are good pens. Many of their offerings are as good or better than from the Big Three. Typically Platinum cartridges fit in Morison pens. They are a slightly tight fit, yet fit. I've found that Platinum converters fit well. Maybe because of material used for the orifice. For short pens Platinum converters may be out of the question as small squeeze converters are very rare. I've found two in almost twenty years of collecting. Parker? Chinese converters? If tight try enlarging the orifice with a drill bit. Not on an electric drill. Do it be hand. You may need a metric size for this to work.
