I have used nothing but Parker Quink Black for nearly 50 years in all my fountain pens.

Never had flow or clogging issues.

Maybe the Aussie weather is kinder to the ink.

Well, that's a ringing endorsement.  Hmm, 50 years...that would make me 115 years old.  And by then I'll probably be ready to try something new anyway.  Thank you, I think I'll try a bottle of it!

Isn’t white lightning a cheap rubbish alcoholic drink that kids who are too young to drink legally consume in the local recreational area I.E park?

When referring to adult beverages in the US, white lightning generally refers to moonshine, illegally produced and generally unaged grain alcohol, running as close as possible (given the relatively crude production equipment) to 100% ethanol.  Everclear is essentially the same product, available in concentrations of 60% to 95% alcohol, but with all taxes paid and stamps attached, meaning there is a company you can sue if it's bad.

White Lightning is also a brand name of bicycle chain lubricant noted for not staining clothes.

+1 :)

I have never ever had any problems with Parker Quink Black using it for about 35 years under lovely England weather either :)

It has been my first choice and everyday ink.

Moreover, my current Parker 100 with F nib performs perfectly only with this ink.

Now on Day 5 of trying to clean Quink Black from the Jinhao 51A.  I'm tired of this, so it's going in the sonicator tonight.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

I'm glad that people haven't had problems. Great that it works for you.  But we have seen multiple pens that simply would not write with  black Parker Quink, that worked perfectly well with any other ink.  This has been the case through the 16 years that I've been in the pen repair business full time, and in the 30+ years since I started repairing pens.

Maybe not a favorite daily ink but I sure like Quink black for calligraphy practice with my fountain pens but I clean them after so have not had an issue and my early eyedroppers

are great with this, I draw with it in a snorkel, but clean it out after using it. The reason I like it is that is dries fast enough to not spread as much as other inks, it's hard to get super fine lines

in a fountain pen than a dip one.

Any theories why? Are any pen brands more susceptible? It seems odd that what is normally considered a safe, versatile ink can cause problems like this.

No idea.  Inks can have different flow characteristics, but this one...  It's to the point where when someone writes about a balky pen, I ask what ink they're using as a place to start.  If they come back with "Black Parker Quink," I suggest that they clean the pen and try another ink, and then get back to me.   Invariably the ink change works.

Inks that I like and have never hand problems with are the Pelikan 4001 inks, and Aurora.  I use Pelikan blue for testing everything.  It's a preference, but I've been using it exclusively for over 10 years now.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
