Nice comparison inks, lively kittehs, and they'd better beware that splash when the whale lands home.

:D

It's a very pretty blue, too.  Thanks for the ink-sploration, @yazeh!

A pleasure!

I'm probably going to enjoy it from a distance because there are too many inks I already don't use enough.

Same here!

You nailed it again @yazeh. I could +1 to everything that has been said in this thread. I picked up a bottle at @OCArt's suggestion a while ago (I lost track of that thread and I don't think I ever did thank you, so... thank you!)  and I don't regret my purchase! It really should be strongly considered to anyone who is looking for a permanent blue.

Sadly, your remarks about it being difficult for lefties is also very true. As much as I love the ink, it can turn a page into a cloudy mess for me. Even so, it is—by far—one of Noodler's more well-behaved inks, in my experience. I'm blown away at the lack of feathering or ghosting that I often see in Noodler's fast- to normal-drying inks, and the long dry time can be reduced to being located in just the punctuation with a drier-than-average pen.

My Platinum Prefountes (both the 03F and my dry 05M) tame the long dry time entirely but also take away the shading and sheen. They make the ink look dull, which is too sad to accept when you know how beautiful it looks under different conditions. I'm still searching for the perfect pen and/or additive, but unlike most of Noodler's "never dries" lineup, I'm not giving up on this one.

I have a question about your swatch... "Noodler's Blue Whales Blue Crabs Baltimore [cat with a... Quidditch Snitch?]"

W-... Wh-... WHAT?! 😂 I mean, I've seen the bottle art but... still! WHAT?! 😂

Thanks again for the review!

You must be an over-writer ;)

Good idea.

Good for you! Personally I'm one of the rare people who loves "dull" inks :)

Nope. It's supposed to be a badly drawn crab :lticaptd:

As I've said elsewhere, the best solution for smudgy Noodler's inks is dilution, typically in a sample vial.  It can also tame feathering.

I appreciate the reminder! I had heard of that (and use it to partially tame Rome Burning's feathering) but have yet to give it a whirl. Are you aware of a good ink to water ratio for me to try? My usual experiments start with pulling the converter out of the pen and mixing inside there. I don't have many empty vials that aren't already dedicated to other current or future uses.

With Red-Black, which was smudgy IMX, I diluted about 4:1.  I find that helpful with several of Noodler's inks.

Thanks for the starting point. I'll get to work and see if/how it works in my pens and environment!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
