Poll: Which would you choose between two equal ideas?

To somehow celebrate the fact that my Calligraphy still writes after the fall, I would like to use one of my good sheets to jot down a calligraphic operetta. I made myself an idea about a little thought for the occasion, but it came to me in two versions, which actually say the same thing, but in two different ways.

Which one would you choose to pass it in fair copy? The 1) upper one or 2) the lower one?

The "style" and flourishes can always be changed in the final writing phase, so don't pay them too much attention.

Thanks for your help.

2.  Because pencils, and that handwriting existed before pens or pencils

Add lightness and simplicate.

And here is the version on a handmade sheet of paper produced by a French artisan paper mill.

The ink is one of my recent favorites, Diamine Writers Blood. It is a very dark purplish red, almost brown, with all the typical characteristics of the Diamines and a truly inspiring colour. It resembles the leather of Montblanc's Florentine case...

Beautiful!

Lacking both French artisan paper and Diamine Writer's Blood ink it is a joy to see both, as presented.

Great execution.

Uh! Somehow the previous sentence reminded me of the stoning in 'Life of Brian'. Guess I'm in need of a laugh -or at least a chuckle. I'm preparing videos to include as supplementary material and it's so booooooring waiting for the computer to do them..

Anyway, as I said, great execution. Your skills never cease to amaze (nor to improve).

If you are to be ephemeral, leave a good scent.

  • 3 months later...

The second one looks like more natural flowing calligraphy. The first one seems somehow contrived. Neither makes any sense to me poetically or otherwise. But I'll ponder them and see if they eventually speak to me.

"What? What's that? WHAT?!!! SPEAK UP, I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!" - Ludwig van Beethoven.
