Btw, @LizEF  what was your impression of Canopus?  How would you compare it to Tomoe River 68?

I posted it in the other thread:

Thanks for posting the link. It gave me a chance to go back and reread everything.

I didn't think much of Canopus when I first tried it but after using it for a while it turns out to be not that bad.

Like Yu-Sari, I'm sure the price will come down in a while.

And it could be that I just need to find some happy use for the remaining sheets and my opinion will change.  I just don't like writing for the sake of writing, so it'll have to wait. :)

Yes, if they can keep it in production and keep selling, I'm sure it will.

I think you hit the nail on the head.  I was disappointed because it didn't have the same nuance level as Cosmo Snow, but otherwise, it didn't turn out to be a bad paper.

PS: Thanks for adding a word to my vocabulary!

What do you want to know, if Bishop to king is erasable-permanent?

I couldn't figure out what this was either... blue black First Love Poobah?

Remember, you're dealing with CluelessMe 🤪

Haha, yes, do you know if Bishop to King is "erasable"?

For BB FLP I meant Bungubox First Love Pigmented. I work with some Filipino people that like to abbreviate everything, my bad!

I have to add much more common words to Firefox's dictionary quite frequently.  You'd think they could afford to just add all the words...

We've talked about erasable before but I don't know what you mean by erasable.  Do you mean, can you wash it away with water?

Meanwhile I'm having a problem with Bishop to King.  It's having difficulties after a few days. The ink won't come out of the nib.  I washed out the section, but it's still having problems.  Additionally, the ink lodges in one end of the converter or the other like it has a very high surface tension.  So the pen was writing when I first filled it and now it doesn't want to write.

OK Both Bungubox 'First Love' inks are in:

Pigment on the left and Dye on the right.

I originally wanted to use one of these M1000s with this ink but both inks don't wash off easily.  Right now I have the Pigment ink in a JInhao X159(F) and an Asvne C80(EF) for preliminary testing. Neither seems to stain the converters but I'm still not convinced they won't stain.  The Dye ink is in a Jinhao X159(F) and the other Asvine C80(EF) I ordered at the same time as the one above is delayed.

Some pics to follow, but logging on is very difficult tonight.  Many attempts result in time outs.

I have noticed lots of problems in terms of accessing FPN occurring at about 0100-0200 UTC of late.
I wonder why they are occurring - DNS attacks? Servers overwhelmed by traffic?

I am minded to create a post to ask about it, on either the 'Community Feedback' board, or the 'FPN News' board.

@USG, do you think trying them in a Sailor might be less risky? If I recall correctly, Sailor makes both inks for Bungubox.

Top 5 (in no particular order) of 30 currently inked pens:

Sheaffer 100 Satin Blue M, Pelikan Moonstone/holographic mica

Parker T1, Dominant Industry Dominant Blue

MontBlanc 1441 F, Monteverde Brown Sugar

Platinum PKB 2000, Platinum Cyclamen Pink

Waterman 52 EF, Herbin Bleu Pervenche

HiYa PGC 😀

I don't have an empty Sailor atm.  But my initial tests with my Duofold dip nib were not all that positive.  The Dye ink didn't wash off all that easily.

My initial plan was an X159(F) and an Asvine C80(EF) for each ink, but the 2nd C80 is still in transit and that M1000(EF) is burning a 'hole in my pocket' so to speak.

I want to comment on those Asvine C80(F)s.  Fabulous pens.  They have a longer section than the other #8 nibbed pens and they feel great in the hand.  I have an uninked Asvine V800 which I thought would be a C80 with a vacuum system, but that's not the case.  It has the same #8 nib and it's a little thicker but they lost the fabulous feel that the section to body radio of the C80 has.  (I like the EF but the F is smoother perfect 😁)

I'm not sure what the right term would be in English. Maybe "eradicable"? Using an ink eradicator pen.
You have it in a Jinhao X159, right?

Oof, in that case- I would steer clear of using either in a flagship pen like the M1000, in case they stain the barrel. What dry inks do you have that would look good out of the big birds?

The new Asvine pens do look good, but they’re so big that I haven’t considered buying one yet, probably the C-80 as vacuum fillers hold too much ink and end up taking the better part of a year to empty. Maybe someone at pen club will have either and I can try them. I’ve heard good things about the nibs, especially the new stub.

What pen are you using it in?  I've got it in one of the Parker Vectors, with a piston converter, and do have to adjust the piston head at times (but have to do that with other inks as well -- and had just assumed that there was some sort of air bubble in the converter blocking the ink flow.

Maybe Bishop to King needs a converter with an agitator in it?

I was having a lot of problems the past day or two as well -- couldn't tell if it was at my end or theirs....   I sent off mail to the "Contact Us" page but have not heard anything back.  And either (or both) could be the issue, given how flaky my laptop has been of late.... :(

I remember now.  ForgetfulMe.  We had this exact same conversation a year ago.

Yes, I have the BtK in a Jinaho X159 <F>

The new M1000 is disappointingly not transparent like the older one, so Ink staining is not an issue you'd notice with this pen.  In the older pen I can see the brass piston and the ink in the ink chamber.  In the new one I can't see anything, even with a strong backlight.  I think It's a huge downgrade.

Maybe @LizEF or @InesF could recomment a few dry inks (that aren't green or teal)?

I unscrew the section on the vacuum fillers I don't want a huge amount of ink in and fill them with an eye dropper.  It's a shame that Pilot removed the ability to unscrew the section on their 823s.  It makes cleaning a 'pain' and you can't load just a little ink with an eye dropper...

I really like the Asvine C80s.  They're very inexpensive, the <F> nibs are fantastic and the long section feels great in the hand.  The <EF> nib on the one I has a tiny bit of 'Sailor' feedback that I like.  The other <EF> just got delivered as I was writing this and I haven't inked it yet but I'll let you if it has the same nib.

Hi ISR

I have the Bishop to King in a Jinaho X159<F>.  It wrote OK when I first filled it, but what I had done was to dip it a few times to see how it wrote and if I liked the color.  After writing with it a while,  I took out the converter and filled that about half way.  The trouble didn't start until the next day when the pen refused to write.  I thought it was an air bubble int he feed too.  I washed out the nib and section but it didn't help.  I increased the flow a little to see if that was the problem.  It wasn't.   I changed the nib to another <F> nib but no dice.  I could get it to write if I pumped the piston but the problem came  back when the ink in the feed was used up.  The pen refused to transmit ink from the converter to the paper.

I think it's the ink.  I had a similar situation with Sailor Nekoyanagi that corrected itself after concentrating in the pen for a week or so.  I could use a surfactant but the results could be unpredictable, so I'm going to wait and see if it self corrects.

I think it's more than that.  Even after I tap the converter to move the ink toward the nib, the pen still won't write.  No amount of tapping or shaking seems to get ink from the converter to the paper.

It's not on your end.  Everybody's complaining.  Sometimes I can't get on at all.

Here's a link to the comment where Ines links her google sheet with her results:

That's the best way to find an ink that's dry, IMO.  The second best is via the An Ink Guy YT channel (though you'll have to wade through the videos to find ones that are dry as he doesn't provide an index of any sort, as far as I know).  My shared spreadsheet is the least accurate of them.

At the moment, my Visconti Homo Sapiens London Fog, EF is thoroughly enjoying Diamine Raw Sienna.  The pen can be dripping (not literally) wet, but this ink performs beautifully in it. :)  Diamine Steel Blue is not teal in my opinion, though you might disagree.  It's also quite dry but lacked enough lubrication for the Visconti's EF.  Kaweco Midnight Blue might fit the bill - been a while since I used it.  Lennon Tool Bar Sesame Oil is bone dry. :D  (I love it anyway, but it needs a wet pen with a very smooth nib.)  Robert Oster's orange, red, and gold inks tend to be dry.  Caffe Crema is quite dry but a lovely color.  There were a few black, grey, and pigmented inks that I skipped over, should you wish to peruse my spreadsheet for those colors.

I tried a couple of inks....  I didn't take pics of everything but here's a few
