Good afternoon one and all.

I have been using a fountain pen since I was first given one, it was a requirement for my school. When I was growing up it was instilled into me that as a gentleman one needed a basic set of tools of which two were a good wristwatch and a good fountain pen.  Fortunately my Grandfather provided me with a good pen, a trip into London to visit a stationers he used. There he told me to try them all (good stationers would accommodate that in those days) until I held the one that felt right in my hand, as though it had been made for me. After trying them all,  probably not endearing myself to the sales person, I settled on this beautiful dark blue pen with gold fittings. I loved it, it was a Conway Stewart. I still own it. 

Unfortunately I also own a few others, to many if you ask my wife, how many hands do you have she will say. But she doesn't get it, someday when you you need a specific pen to match your mood.  That my story and I'm sticking to it. 

I am looking forward to learning and having a nose about and a chat.

Welcome! My dad was the one who took me to the jewelry store for my first nice fountain pen, a lovely experience and treasured memory. I hope you have fun!
