Thank you @Misfit and @Penguincollector!

The pen advertises chewing gum and there is a little story about how I bought it and how I used it at first.

I might as well tell the story:

About ten years ago, I was at a small store having some copies made of some documents and, while I was waiting, a cup on the counter caught my attention. It was full of pens and was displaying the price of 1 euro per pen. Most of them were ballpoints and all of them were advertising something. I liked this one, bought it, and took it home with me.

Once at home I wanted to try it, and, as it didn't come with a cartridge and I didn't know it was a Sailor, I fully expected to admit international cartridges. So I picked up one and tried to insert it. It didn't work and neither did a Parker one. I was at a loss, those two, Cross and Lamy were the only cartridges available around.

Anyway, I dipped the pen in an ink bottle and wow! I felt in love with it, didn't expect that.

So I put myself to investigate what brand of pen it was, it took me a while to be able to read Sailor on the nib.

There where no stores carrying Sailor products in the city I was living, and I didn't buy anything on the internet those days. So I didn't have access to Sailor cartridges or converters. But I had plenty of international cartridges and a box cutter 😀

So I cut the top of one cartridge to make a bigger "mouth" (is it the correct term?) and bingo, perfect fit. I worked perfectly with no leaks. The funniest part is I did it with a new and full cartridge, it didn't occurred to me to use an empty one 😃, and somehow I didn't make a mess out of it.

Thank you for sharing the story. How amazing to find a fountain pen that way. Especially finding such a cute one.

Wyvern

I once had a beautiful green Wyvern (not your marbled types), that I swapped to a passed pal in Scotland, for an Osmia. The Wyvern had a very nice semi-flex nib.

Jade?

I think jade is a bit more yellowish, this “Pelikan Transparent Fountain Pen” model came in several green color variations. I believe they called this one “malachite green”.

It is different from the malachite green in later production Pelikan 100 in patterns.

I placed an order with FPRevolution, and wow did it arrive quickly. Here is one of the two pens I ordered. It’s the Platinum Plaisir Teal Green with M nib.

Green pen club:

Sheaffer Imperial AS9 in Sage

Sheaffer 800 ‘Dolphin nib’

Sheaffer PFM I

Parker Slimfold NS (slipped in somehow :) )

Interestingly the Sheaffers are touchdown / snorkels, and the Slimfold is a cartridge / converter, smaller than the 45. Love to know more about the Parker….

Hi,

I don’t have many green pens, but those few I have, I like very much, and use them frequently. Here’s one of my favorites.

Hope you like it…
