Did Parker ever manufacture pens in South Africa?

I didn't they did - but then this Parker Jotter turned up with a R.S.A. imprint and a Parker date code for 1982.  Made in U.K. for South African market?

As far as I understand there was a plant out there. My colleagues went out there for a bit. Although I know very little about what was made there. Some machines from Newhaven, England also went out there.

Hi Darryl,

Thanks very much for the info.  You learn something new everyday!

Presumably just a limited range of the basic models were manufactured and for a fairly short time - until the apartheid sanctions of 1986?

Interesting.

G.

The two jotters on the right are genuine Parker products made in R.S.A.
They are covered in ostrich skin!
