Mr. Cypress Pen

I just had to post my latest addition. It’s a Love at First Sight pen from Mr. Cypress. For the price I think I got a steal.

Its made of cellulose acetate which and has swirls of dark blue and, what I’ll call, grey. There are areas where it is translucent. The clip is nickel silver, along with the brand logo, and has a nice design that fits the pen. There is also a cap band with a Greek design on it. The whole pen represents well in my estimation.

As far as size, it is perfect for me. About the size of my Opus 88 Koloro or maybe Montblanc 146. It fits perfectly in my hand and is easy to hold. The F size Jowo nib puts down a nice line and the converter holds plenty of ink.

All in all this was a nice buy and a good experience. They were quick to answer my questions and I received my pen quickly. It came in a nice wooden display box (see pic). For anyone wondering about this brand I can confidently say don’t hesitate.

Mr. Cypress is one of the most underrated pen companies out there IMO. They make some really cool pens. This one's gorgeous, they've really stepped up their game recently. I'm not a huge fan of the clip design, I wonder if they'd be willing to swap it out for a plainer one.

Have you seen this one? Apologies for the bad pics, I took them from their Instagram as their site is down:

This might be one of the most beautiful pens I've ever seen. Sadly it's also a cool $3k.

Wow, that is beautiful! They have a nice variety of pens at a price point for everyone.

As far as their website, it seems to have been up and down a bit lately. I’m not sure if they’re updating or what.

Im looking at some of their wood models as I don’t have a FP made of wood yet.

That is beautiful!! And I think the clip is a perfect compliment to the rest of the pen.

Doesn't it though? I wonder why so many clips are, well, bland. I love how they put effort into making the whole pen, including the clip, fit together. More pen manufacturers should do this in my opinion.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
