Emerald de Chivor leaked

My Emerald de Chivor leaked. It was fine for the 1 day or so I had it in my pen;  and  that means there was no water in the converter and it was kept still in a pen case kept at home only - just took it out a few times to write with. . .

And this morning I noticed a bit of a leak and by the afternoon it had gushed. I emptied the pen put in another ink and it's working fine. I see there have been a number of reports on EdC leaking.

Not sure how it happens that an ink would leak just like that none of my many other inks did this. Any way to prevent this? I am now gun shy about using this link? Do other inks do this?

Some inks are very wet, and Emerald de Chivor is one of them. With such inks, you can have leaking in pens that are otherwise fine. Where did the leak come from? If it is from the nipple and converter mating, then you might be able to find a tighter fitting converter to do your bidding, but if it is through the feed out of the main part of the nib, unless there is something you can do to make that fitment tighter (unlikely unless the nib and feed are not fully seated), that feed and nib combination might not be able to keep up with Chivor. I've had other inks that did this, and they were all extremely wet.
