Change nib unit on sailor pro gear slim mini

Santa is giving me a new Sailor Pro Gear Slim Mini tomorrow, first version and am really excited and eager to have it.

Has anyone tried changing the nib unit of the Sailor Pro Gear slim Mini, which come with an EF size nib? I’d like to use it with a 1.1 or wider nib point in order to use it for titles in my note taking sessions.

cheers and merry Christmas to you all

Yes, I have. It's not that difficult to swap nib units between Sailor Professional Gear Slim (Mini), Profit Standard, Profit Light, and Promenade pen models. You can harvest a Sailor ‘medium-sized’ Zoom or Music nib from a Profit Light pen to put into the Professional Gear Slim Mini.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

MS nib ground to stub would do the trick.

Add lightness and simplicate.

I have been checking the YouTube resources to see how to safely change nibs and I could this video. It explains how to at around the 1:55 time stamp. According to your experience, is it the correct way to do so, as I will exchange my MF nib on the new Sailor Mini with the F one of the Profit standard

Thank you

Uh, you could pull the nib and feed out of the collar to swap nibs between Sailor pens  — and I have done that before, more than once — but it wasn't quite what I meant, since your original question was about swapping or changing nib units.

Thank you again Dill. I have noticed that I can even interchange change the collar section since both are the same size and thread, and no need to tinker yanking off the nib/feed section. I just need to rinse well each section after detaching the converter on the Profit and the cartridge on on the Mini, since each pen has a different ink. Rinse, dry well over night and voila!

Yes, the grip sections are interchangeable between the Professional Gear Slim (Mini) and Profit Standard models. As long as you don't mind having a taupe section on your Profit Standard, that'll work.

Both sections are black, actually. The caps are also interchangeable!

Not true, actually. I was in bed getting ready to sleep when I wrote my earlier reply, and didn't want to get up to check my Sailor Professional Gear Slim Mini in Taupe to confirm; but I distinctly remember that its grip section is not black, when I last cleaned it (and the Stellar Blue one, too). I checked just now, and the grip section is dark grey on the PGS Mini in Taupe.
