Conklin Endura Abalone filling quirk

Hi there

I just received a new Conklin Abalone LE fountain pen and it arrived in its box in the mail shaken to bits. The screw in parts had worked themselves loose so the blind cap on the end of the barrel was off.
I can’t find any info on this, but when you unscrew the blind cap the end of the converter is exposed. Is this a second way of filling the pen? Take off the blind cap and turn the converter without removing the barrel? Or is the blind cap not meant to come off?
I also have an Endura Deco Crest and it doesn’t have a screw off blind cap.

If the Abalone hadn’t had this blind cap separate in the mail I would never have tried to unscrew it so wouldn’t have known it comes off.

Yafa have responded and said that the blind cap does screw in and it is not a feature to access the converter and to fill the pen I should remove the barrel.

I’m mainly a Parker collector but these new Conklins have impressed me and are great value for money. Yafa have also provided excellent service.
