Many inks have some water resistance, some are completely obliterated by even a hint of water. For ex. the sketch, I had some shading and the moment I used a wet brush the shading melted away. 

Then there's the type of paper. If the paper is absorbent many inks have decent water resistance. However, on Japanese paper, forget it

I tried to arrange the pens in the order I used them. The French pen—on its own—separated a little from its English cousins. The space between them I call the Channel. I actually like the washable blue. It is faded and washed-out looking, but still a decent, readable, blue ink. The Duofolds are good pens. Fahrney's catalog had an article about flagship pens in the 90s: Parker Duofold, Waterman Lemans 100, Pelikan M800, and Montblanc 146 and 149. I could buy Duofolds in different colors to distinguish the different inks and nibs in them. Pelikan M800s were either black or green and black, Montblancs were just black, and Waterman Lemans 100s were also black.

Yes, I just decided in the beginning not to bother with the water test unless the ink was explicitly advertised as having water resistance.  Since I was trying to fill the EF niche, and lots, perhaps most, of the reviews out there do water tests, I decided to leave it to others......  Thanks for filling that gap!

But here's part of an email I sent to a friend today.  I gifted her a Wing Sung 601 with a grey body and it's run out of ink - this is her first fountain pen:

Good point.  I do like pens that have interesting colors.  My Visconti HS London Fog is just plain (ahem) gorgeous!

Thanks for the review @LizEF. Not a big fan of the colour, but this is one of the inks that encouraged me to start with inkxperiment drawings (together with Noodler’s Rome Burning). Back in 2017 I attended a workshop with Nick Stewart, and this Quink Blue was one of the inks he used. Combine it with bleach, and you can do some wonderful stuff… An ink that triggers some fond memories.

Wow so lucky to have worked with Nick Stewart. I also concur, Parker Quink is amazing ink for washes....

Then I like this ink for that alone!  Love Nick Stewart's art, and his willingness to share his techniques.
