Hero 232 blue-black iron-gall ink and Hero 234 carbon black ink are both immensely water-resistant and priced very cheaply (at least to buy from vendors in China). I don't know if there are local stockists where you are, or how capable you are at organising shipment of goods out of China to where you are.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Krishna lyrebird water sapphire in my experience has been a very good ink. It's a turquoise with good water resistance, ample wetness, decent shading, and compared to pilot inks, its way less expensive... I think it's around 350 rupees for a 100 ml bottle(when I bought it from Sreekumar sir, owner of Krishna inks), which is a lot of ink for the money

Pilot Blue, very water resistant. Great performance, great flow. As A Smug Dill suggested Hero 232 would be ideal, but alas, I have found no online, local vendors of the ink in India.

I'm currently using the Pilot Black for my sketching.... the black does run, which is actually pretty cool to do shadows with. Overall, its highly water resistant but not water proof.

Krishna Inks also has waterproof ink series namely, Rainwater (100% waterproof) and Monsoon Sky (50% waterproof). These work well with relatively wetter pens (e.g. Kanwrite Legay with Ti nib and ebonite feed).

Channelling my inner Nitish Bharadwaj/Puneet Issar...

Pitamaha, aapne na "budget" ke liye koi aankada diya, na "colors (rangon)" ki koi soochi di.

Aur nahi aapne "permanent" ki vyakhya di [only waterproof or bulletproof/fadeproof?].

Isi liye apne manse ye soochi bana raha hun.

Krishna inks are a good option as suggested by many.

My list:

1. Black - Schneider black bottle - My exp is with schneider black cartridges which i expect to translate to the

bottle- Dark, wet black ink. semipermanent 33 ml for ~ ₹ 364 on amazn.

Pilot Black - Great overall ink with good water resistance - very happy with cartridges.

2. Purple - Rohrer & Klingner  Scabiosa -dusty purple, but dry ink. Great shading potential. mild Iron Gall ink (but

iron gall nevertheless), with good water resistance [All non dokumentus RK inks are about ₹ 700-800 per

    bottle of 50 ml ink].

3. Blue-Black 1 - Rohrer and Klingner Salix - Iron Gall.

Blue-Black 2 - Pilot 30/60 ml [350 ml bottle is incredibly cost effective if you can find it]. The most well

behaved blueblack ink, I use this to test a new pen. If you get the 350 ml bottle, you basically are set for the        next decade for a work appropriate, everyday ink with good fade resistance and more than decent water

    resistance.

Blue Black 3 - Daytone Blue Black. Not as wet as Pilot but cheaper.

4. Blue ink -  Pilot Blue and Krishna's waterproof blues. I think these are your only realistic economy options. Because blue inks are supposed to be uised by school students, they need to be accident proof - i.e. be quickly washed off school uniforms etc. None of the standard budget inks I know are water resistant - indeed Pelikan 4001 RB has a very poor fade resistance as well. Surprisingly, their 4001 Turquoise is much more light fast, but zero water resistance as well

5. Specialty colors - Green/Red/Yellow etc. - I would just use a gel pen for those specific needs. no point buying ink in a color that you can not use regularly. Pentel has got really nice gel pens in green, red and pink -I used them all.

Finally, I ask you to consider non water resistant inks too, just be more careful with your written papers - keep them away from moisture. THat opens up multitude of ink brands in variety of colour options.

Eg. - Monteverde/Conklin Horizon blue, Waterman havana brown, R&K leipziger Schwarz, and many other colours.

Also, try and use non bleached/acid free paper which also protects your writing from fading off.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
