Can someone please id this Pilot

Multipen

Recommended Posts

I can´t find any info of my new Pilot pen or its name.  I´m not able to find anything despite google picture search.  I know I´v seen pictures of that model before several times but can´t remember where.

It is a quite simple pen in plastic with an old screw in squeeseconverter but has some similaritys to other Pilot models.

I´m just curious of its name and when it was made. Many thanks in advance.

It's a Pilot Korea pen but I have no idea what model. The cap looks like it might be styled after the Myu, perhaps?

You can see some Pilot Korea pens with similar nibs and sections here:

Thank you! This helps some. I can now understand i can see the top of an inscription on the nib of what probably is ROK. Korea backwards?

But there are some models in your link that share some resemblance with mine.

Hello.

Was there a long version of the Pilot Myu Black (Myu-25)?

If it exists I'll go for it.

😉

Make sure you look for the long version Myu 25 made by Pilot Korea. Perhaps the rarest pen ever (not) in existence. 😉

I see, if the pen goes out of Japan, will Pilot Japan and Pilot Korea be treated the same...?

If so, it will no longer be Myu Black.

So the name changed to Myu-25?

😣

I'm a bit confused - my response was just a poor attempt at kidding around.

To the original poster: the circular 'p' logo on the nib is a dead giveaway for Pilot Korea (more accurately, Korea Pilot Co., Ltd), a totally separate company and licensee of Pilot Japan at the time your pen was made.

If there is a long version as a trend of Pilot Japan products, "short" is attached as a model name (as a trend).

 So I wondered.

Myu-25's official name in Pilot Japan is "ミューブラック" "Myu Black". There is no "short" attached to the name.

The model name of Pilot Japan for the color version of Myu Black is "ミュー コンビ カラー タイプ" "Myu Combi Color Type", accompanied by color designations such as white, neo-pink, and roll green.

This is the Pilot Japan customer contact's response to my question, so I don't think it's wrong.

I forgot to explain what the question is under that background.

I wondered why these fountain pens are called "Myu-25" because Korean Pilot's similar products are also called "Myu-25". (I misunderstood it as a generic name for them.)

I took the meaning of "the rarest pen ever (not) in existence" as "discontinued product" and didn't realize it was a joke.

I was seriously about to start looking for the long version.

😄

I think it's a very cool pen.

It's very interesting that this long Korean pen is called the same name as the short Japanese pen. Why do you think Pilot Korea decided to use the same name?

Are there any pens other than this one and the Elite where Pilot Korea used the same name as Pilot Japan?

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
