Namiki Emperor LE 2022 "Elephant"

Not yet included in Namiki's company website, but spotted on Sakura's website. A bit of a departure design wise and quite striking color-wise! The price is also rather striking...some 15% up from the "Coral" LE... Check out the details:

Wow, that is so uncharacteristic of Namiki. Looks more Danitrio.

The pricing of the “Elephant” remains unchanged at ¥1.3 mil actually. The only difference is that the presentation box this time is unlacquered, but the surface area where the Shishiai Togidashi Taka Makie technique used is greater than the Shoki and Coral pens (the rock shielding the little demon from Shoki, and the rocks under the corals are Shishiai Togidashi Taka Makie)

Somehow the photo from product planning is more encouraging but still not convinced.

The colour scheme reminds me of Disney’s Lion King Musical.

Nice to finally see what this year had in store, but I'll be passing.  Namiki seems to be hitting a very Star Trek movie "skip every other one" cadence for me.

I’m holding it in my hand and it’s rather amazing. Technically accomplished. Somehow it works. Does it work enough….?
