Lady Scheaffer Repair

I haven’t used this pen for a few years and now the black button on the top of the filler tube is stuck. I used to pump this while the pen nib was in the ink bottle. Can this be fixed or are replacement fillers available?

Hi,

There is a rubber sack inside the metal tube and the rubber sack may be hardened or rotten. It is repairable, see for info on that matter in this FPN thread:

You should be able to use any different Sheaffer converter in your pen. Have a look on ebay or any online seller to see what types are available and choose one that either looks similar to yours or a new twist version that doesn't contain a rubber sac. Sheaffer standard sized converters will fit your pen. It is possible to renew the rubber sac inside an old converter like yours but it's not essential for you to do this unless you have the correct tools, shellac and right sized replacement sac and you are confident about doing it without damaging your converter. I've done it using a crochet hook to pull out the end but it wasn't easy.

We have replacement button converters, but they are expensive .....  the squeeze converter should work, also. I doubt if the modern piston converter would fit.

Some do, some don't.  The button converter is easy to resac though.

of course, you could just use cartridges as well...

and refilling carts with a syringe allows the use of bottle ink
