Kaweco mini piston does not fit sport?

Recommended Posts

Just got my Kaweco Skyline Sport Fountain pen.  Also purchased Kaweco Plunger mini for Sport pen.

converter fits onto feed, but now main body will not thread with handle/nib section.  Feels clearly too long.

Is this just a normal oversight on my part?

Thanks!

I have at least half a dozen of these, and they all fit perfectly.

It should look like this:

Kaweco Mini Piston Converter for Sport Pens

and should fit with three or four mm to spare.

Yeah, pics enclosed.  i mounted the converter on the feed, extended the plunger, and as you can see in third photo, not even close to getting the body closed.

Any thoughts?

Caliper measurements:

Body length:  ~69mm

Depth available inside:  28.86mm

What is taking up the remaining 40mm???

is there a mini cartridge jammed up in there?

YES!

Logic prevails.

It was a mini cartridge up in the body.  I gently tapped on it opening down with a wooden mallet and voila, the cartridge falls out.

Sorry for the drama....i should use my brain once in a while.
