Papier Plume Moss Green

Recommended Posts

I bought a bottle of this ink for springtime.

I like the color a lot--it draws me in--but wish it was a touch darker and a little wetter. It works across a limited range of my nibs. It has great shading in some pen/paper combinations.

Nice and easy to clean.

Nice review. I love the economy of your model, to the point.

Funny, when I tried FWP moss park green, it was dry too....

The moss that grows in our neck of the woods, is a fresh bright green, which makes me wonder, what type of moss the ink makers are inspired by?

Nice review seen here, too. And well put by yazeh! A darker, withdrawn green, but still fresh and bright. Fits nicely into PP's collection. BTW not at all hard to get here in Krautland after ordering directly from NOLA.

@yazeh @lapis thank you!

I think this ink fits the color of aged moss I have seen on driveways and boulders, which is not freshly sprouted and a touch dried out. It also makes me think of swamp...

Always looking for fun green shades.

Then ya gotta get their (PP's) Street Car Green (if you don' already have it, o'course). Slightly reminiscent of Noodler's Bank Note Green (occasionally termed Banknote Green).

Thanks for the review, @dragondazd!  This seems like my sort of color - green with bits of brown.  If I didn't already have enough inks to last eternity, I'd probably get a sample.  Instead, I'll add it to my list for later.  @yazeh hit the nail on the head regarding your review format - nice and efficient! :)

And the LA is the 2-character code for Louisiana. So: New Orleans LouisanA.

I don't have much interest in murky greens as a rule, although I recently ordered a custom ink from Kiwi Inks for a certain sort-of sage green that I was looking for. But the ones I have tried do seem to be rather dry. I even asked for this custom ink to be 7 points wet out of 10, and it is still a bit dry at the start of a word or a line, and then pretty wet after that. I probably need to try it in different pens.

I don't have a lot in this color range. Noodler's army green is wet. Taccia olive green is not dry. Tokiwa-matsu is not dry.

Thank you.

Not an option for me ordering sadly. VAT and duty along with that mysterious 'processing payment' adds up to a lot more than the cost of one bottle. Can make MB Elixir ink look like something from the bargain bin.

Thank you for the review.  I'll be adding some green mixes to the FPN mix soon.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

Maybe looking into Graf von Faber-Castell Olive Green is an option for you? I had samples of both and found them to look fairly similar, so I got the GvFC Olive Green, as it is still expensive, but a lot of ink (75 ml) and easy/easier to get here in Europe.

Nice succinct review.

I like this ink - I have an occasional splurge on PP inks and this is one I've enjoyed a lot. I'm not sure it would be a repeat purchase though, as I have others in the range I like more, and some I've yet to try.

I think Diamine 150th Safari would probably be my first choice as an alternative?

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.

Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
