I love both of those clear demonstrators! Between my two sons and me, we have a black, two different blues, and a red.

I’m partial to the demonstrators also.

My son just started college this fall out of state. Probably as a way to channel some of my angst about it I curated a bunch of things that I thought would be helpful but also sort of special, and that included a collection of pens and pencils. I got two gel pens, two rollerballs, two fountain pens, two multipens, and two pencils: Pentel Sharp Kerrys in 0.7. He told me of all of those, the Kerrys are what he uses every day. For some reason this picture only shows one of the pencils, but I swear I got a blue one too!

The Pilot Prera is an excellent choice @PennyTheDog

That looks like a great gift. Well done you!

Thank you! My goal was to get nice pens that feel a little special but aren’t so expensive that he’ll feel bad if he loses them. Pilot nibs feel so good no matter the price point!

Congratulations, jthole.  Let us know what you think after using it for awhile.

it feels well made and it’s an ingenious design. Nice to tuck away in my shirt or jacket pocket.

It also reconfirms that I am not a big fan of pocket pens :)

So it’s nice and fun to have, but I don’t need more than one.

Can you tell me more? I don’t have a Kerry, yet. But I do have quite a few mechanical pencils both new and vintage.

It has a cap, so it doesn’t need a retractable tip for carrying it in a pocket. When you post the cap on the back, it becomes part of how the pencil functions: you can advance the lead and access the eraser through the cap. It works really well!

Thank you @PennyTheDog I think I’ll have to add one to my collection.

You should have one. They're well made and fun to use. It's a pencil for a fountain pen person.

Will work for pens...

Something different: My wife let one of my Kerrys fall on the ground while shopping. Hard ground. Now the pusher has a dent. Are there replacements available?

I placed an order for the Pentel Kerry in Olive Green. I also got a Kaweco Frosted Blueberry fountain pen. With rewards dollars, and return money, I’m paying $13.02 (Amazon).

The olive Kerry is due to arrive on Friday. I’m looking forward to it. I hope I find it fun.

I do hope you love it! And with the Kaweco in the order it can't fail. B)
