Sailor Yurameku Kyokuya Review

This is my fourth ever review. I bought a sample of the two Yurameku inks that looked darkest.

Kyokuya was not dark enough really. And at the same time, while it looks better in wetter nibs, it also dripped right out of my Pilot Falcon. Anyway....

This ink is advertised as changing color over time and on different papers. I can attest that this is the case. This ink works by having the yellow colors soak into the paper and the greener and purpler colors coming to the top. You may or may not see a touch of pink in the Lamy 1.9mm example.

I like the green color, but it's kind of flat without much shading (which is my favorite character) and I won't be using it with most of my nibs because it is too faint or can't stay in the pen.

Fortunately, I happen to already have an ink with this dull green color AND it EVEN has that pink color coming to the surface in broad strokes--Birmingham Antique Sepia! It's darker, wetter, affordable, and works in my pens. I'll have to review that one so I can make some direct comparisons.

This ink was not as fun as Yoi to play with, but may be worth a try, especially if you have a lot of different papers to test it on.

Thanks again, @dragondazd!  This one had the most promise color-wise for me, but...

That's kind of a deal-killer...

This is my type of colour… I like it.

But… dripped out of the pen… that’s weird… shouldn’t happen at all: air pressure should keep the ink inside the pen. I’ve had this happen to me a few times, and each time the cause was a bad seal at the cartridge/converter (once with a crack in a cartridge I re-used too often, once with a converter that I hadn’t pushed in far enough).

This was specifically my pilot falcon, which has the special feed for their soft semiflex nibs. I've had a dozen inks in it and noticed this problem with only yomogi so far. Thing is, yomogi works in my drier nibs...

Anyway, if you like this, by all means try it, you can probably get it to function in some pens.seems like dry and broad is the trick. And also check out Birmingham antique sepia 💚
