Forgot to mention, as well gave a Lamy Safari a good clean out as it was running dry after three years of regular use.

Now writes perfectly.

Still working on the Boston safety pen, disassembly of which has stalled.

I managed to write out my Montblanc Classique today so just flushed it and thoroughly cleaned the empty cartridge. I'm taking it out of circulation so I can ink a Parker vac with (what else) Quink.

Cleaned and changed inks in my Kaweco Collection Iguana Blue - recorded it!

....that looked easy! I like the pen as well as the ink you are using. Well done. 👍

I bought a demonstrator pen on eBay that warned of ink in the cap. Well actually the text was the cap and cap liner.  I’ve been soaking that cap for days. It still has ink in the cap. Little by little it’s getting better. I think the ink is inside the cap liner.  I’m starting to see the color of the cap liner.

I wonder if an ultrasonic cleaner would speed that up?

@Baka1969 I’ve been using an ultrasonic cleaner. I did try pen flush early on. It stays in the ultrasonic cleaner for hours. I keep hoping that the next time I check it, all the ink will run out. So far that hasn’t happened. I’m not at regretting buying the pen, as I’m going to keep trying.

I was using a Q-tip to try to get ink out of the very top inside the cap. Most of the ink left in it is purple. I ended up getting some blue ink. I hoped that would make things happen faster. Nope.

I wonder if anyone has tried Baystate Blue in a TWSBI? 😅

@RedPieThanks! I have found German manufactured pens to be very well-engineered. The flow through the nib section and the feed is so nice in the Kaweco that it cleaned out very easily with a few flushes. In hindsight, I didn’t really need to screw out the nib and feed, but even that happened so effortlessly.

My pen is a Levenger True Writer Amethyst.  It’s transparent. The ink that is slowly coming out is purple. But there is some blue. Sometimes it seems like it’s improving, then I’m not sure if it is.

It would have to be a dedicated to BSB TWSBI if someone did.

Waterman Carène in Marine Amber got a washout and going to bed for a while. Sweet smooth nib on that one.

I cleaned out both of my Carenes today also and will put them in hibernation for a bit. I'm not as big a fan. They look amazing. I just don't think they write as well as they look.

Just had an oops moment with a YongShen 3013, which resulted in an empty tank and a lot of cursing, mopping and wiping with clean, damp rags. So, pen has been cleaned out and is now drying, upright in an old jelly jar on the espresso machine (gentle heat to drive out the moisture).

I do look good wearing blue. I really do. Honest. Eventually I'll look good without blue...

I had to read this a couple of times. First time through I thought "wow, that must be a hella big converter!" 🤦‍♀️

What is worse than fountain pen ink is gel pen ink. I had a red one leak in a shirt pocket when gel pens first came out.  That spot never came out.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
