HI, Tanush here

I was using the parker frontier fountain pen since 2 years. I loved the fountain pen, the looks are great, looks pretty much like a PARKER P

1, Smooth pen with a nice GT nib

2. A bit of springiness in the nib.

3. Very durable and light weight

4. Looks more expensive than its worth.

The bad things about the pen

1. The fine is a much finer nib and generally medium nibs are not available.

2. Accepts only Parker proprietary nibs and getting them is pretty tough.

3. The grip section of the pen is prone to scratches and after 2 years the grip section looks bad

4. The price point of the pen is 22$ ( in Amazon.com ) and 750 rupees in India. The price should be a bit low , its overpriced.

So, what is my final verdict?

I think you should go for this pen if you want a workhorse pen which is durable, smooth, and writes perfectly good then you could go for this pen. But if you want a pen with many nib types and sizes then this is not the correct pen.

Yes agree to your conclusion. I really like the workhorse nature of the pen and the pricing. In this price point or slightly more, one can also get a vintage Parker 45 which is also a great pen.

Thank you for your review. I disagree however about the durability of the Frontier. A common issue with the Frontier is that the cap comes loose after some use.

Great looking pens, imo, especially the sparkly red and dark grey ones, and very smooth writers but caps don't seal tightly, which is ok if used daily, and the rubberized section coating started to peel off on one of mine.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

That's interesting what some of you have said about the loose cap.  In each of mine (I have several), the cap is difficult to remove; it takes two hands.  I have one that is 24K gold-plated, purchased from a U.K. gold-plater.  Aside from the cap, I've not used any one of them enough to experience degradation of the rubberized grip on the section.

Thanks for the review.
I have 5 of these in my collection, in different colors (including the metal body one) and I absolutely love them. Hence the big number I have collected. I don't have any issues with any of them though, neither the cap coming loose, nor scratches on the section. Maybe I'm just very lucky?

There are many reports of caps coming loose here on FPN. I own one an UK made Frontier (flighter, steel f-nib) that also has this issue. The only solution seems to be replacing the cap (not seen any fix for it).
