Tom's Studio Spark nib compatibility / size

Hi fellow FP enthusiasts,

I recently succumbed to a new nib - architect from Tom's Studio, designed for the Spark fountain pen.

However, I don't get along with screw thread fountain pens, so am hoping to fit the nib into another of my many fountain pens.

I was wondering if anyone else had done this already and had an idea of nib size and compatibilities - I know I can just fiddle around and try a few etc, but the fewer times a nib is removed from a pen the better in general in my opinion to reduce chances of damage/retaining snugness of fit.

If all else fails, I have a few nesting stainless tubes, so may construct a pen body!

Cheers,

Eclectica,

Try and see whether it fits in one of your many fountain pens that take a threaded Bock 250 nib unit. Just to be clear, I mean replace the entire nib unit, not pull the nib out and separate it from the feed and housing.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

It does not appear to be compatible with a 250 unit, the outer tube is measuring nearer 8mm, although the nib feed measures 6mm.

I'll play around :o and get something to work no doubt...

Cheers,

E.

FPNibs has a drawing in its product listing for Bock 250 steel nib units:

I think the shape and dimensions look about right, especially when compared to the housing for the Pro-Flex nibs shown on Tom's Studio's website, which is supposed to fit in the Spark pen:
