Sprung clip, how to fix? (no-name pen)

I recently acquired this no-name pen with a nice Eclipse nib, and the package is nice enough that I would like to correct this flaw: the nib is sprung.

I have assumed that the way to unspring the clip is to remove it so that it can be bent back towards true, and then re-install it. There is an inner cap which conceals the mechanism that attaches the clip to the pen. The inner cap appears to be a simple cylinder that extends from just above the air hole up to the point where the cap starts to taper at the top.

I have no experience in this particular area, so I would be happy to get some advice. Is this a simple, straightforward repair, or is it the sort of thing that requires special tools and experience?

Thanks for any help. Here's a photo.

Thanks for that. The first suggestion (from RonZ) worked for me.

I have wooden Q tips that at times are better than regular branded Q tips. The wooden sticks on these tend to be a good diameter to put under a sprung clip to help you straighten it. Less risk of marring the clip on the bottom than with something metal.
