Can always count on you for great ink samples! :)

Thanks, @Ceramicist. It’s just as much about all the colors and shiny things as it is about the pens for me.

What if you had someone make a skeleton for it- like the old BCHR filigree pens, or a metal finial for the barrel?

What a great idea. 😀👍  Add the weight outside instead of inside.  Haha, why didn't I think of that?

That’s really pretty, rides that blurple edge.

Did you notice that there's a line down the center of each letter making it look like 2 tines and a slit between them...  You can only see it on the close ups....  This is a fun paper !!! 😀👍

Today's pen has been the recently acquired Parker 51 Signet, F(?) nib, still with vintage Quink Permanent Royal Blue (athough the pen seems to write more like an M -- at least with that ink...).

Today has seen me using the black Namiki Emperor, FM, and the Sailor x Wancher Realo in champagne green, EF. Both are inked with Pilot Black.

I’m trying to write the Diamine Thunderbolt ink out of my WingSung 618 with an EF 14k nib. I also have to practice my Gothic hand with a Osmiroid B4 that has Thornton’s Luxury Goods Red in it.

Ooh, @Scribs, your pens of the day sound amazing!

Oh, that’s so cool! It is a really fun paper. I like the way it teases so many effects out of even the most commonplace inks.

Oh I have one of those pens!  Mine has a blue background (I don't know if they come in other colors).  Picked it up on a whim a couple of years ago at a store in Pittsburgh's Shadyside neighborhood that's sort of a combination of a stationery store, a place that sells greeting cards, a bookstore, and a novelty shop (and sometimes has pens and inks as well).

ETA: It's actually not a bad writer, either....

Today’s pen was the newly acquired light brown Platinum Amazonas with fine 18K nib. Didn’t do much writing with that pen because we spent a good part of day at Dromgoole’s. Heckuva fun day, more to come on that later. @Scribs I’ll echo what PGC said, that’s a nice pair for the day right there!

Today was the Conklin Endura with Waterman Inspired Blue, along with the MB 146 (early 1980s) with MB Midnight Blue, which I’ve now emptied and cleaned.

Does it have what looks like cherry blossoms? They do have more pens, maybe 7.

I think there might be four of us with this pen. I remember when there were posts about this pen. Made me go looking, and get one.

@USG The resin is really beautiful. The pen looks like 1930s celluloid to me.

Looking to buy a Delta Chatterley Stantuffo Fusion Star Cage.

Somehow I have four inked Pelikans all at once, two modern and two vintage, so I declare today "Pelikan Day" and will be starting with the postwar grey-marbled 100N with a fine CN nib, inked with J. Herbin Gris Galet.

(The others are: green-striped 400 KEF with Akkerman Stormachtig Blauw; M400 brown tortoise EF with Platinum Classic Khaki Black; M600 red tortoise F (reground to Imperial by Kirk Speer) with Taccia Benitsuchi.)

So far it's been the Pelikan M120 Iconic Blue, M nib, still with Pelikan 4001 Blue Black.

I was going to use some other pens for today's "morning pages" entry, but they seem to have run out of ink, or have dried out.

And of course I'm still flushing out one of the pens I bought at an estate sale yesterday morning -- some Chinese(?) brand called "Golden Star" which looks like a take on a Parker 51 but with an arrow design on the hood, similar to the arrows on Parker 61s.  Fascinating chroma to the ink, though -- started out black, then as I continued to soak and flush it, the ink went to brown, and then to burgundy, and then, after soaking it in ammonia solution over night, is now apparently purple....

Of course I ALSO have the two other pens I bought yesterday morning to flush out -- although the Levenger True Writer seems to be pretty clean (no evidence that the converter for it, in the original box with the pen, has ever been used).  But we'll see.  And of course it's anyone's guess about the third pen I got at the sale, a turquoise(?) color Parker 45 (which definitely has seen some use -- there's dried ink on the nib assembly and section, but the section also seems to have a crack in it... :headsmack: (oh well, at least that pen only cost me five bucks).

Levenger's True Writer Northern Light (M) w/ the enclosed (single) black cartridge.

It seems lie some dealers or/and manufacturers are saving money by sending only a single catridge with new pens. They used to send two - a black one and a blue one. H*ck, I consider it really nice that most (non Chinese) pens C/C pens still come with a free converter. Somehow, the Chinese pens seem to include converter with all their pens. Guess the (probable) net cost of $.50-$1.00 of a plain converter isn't to big an expense😏.

The nib is a nice, smooth writer but I can't used it posted because the metal band, at the bottom of the cap, rubs uncomfortably against the webbing between my thumb and index finger.

A grey day is really a silver one that needs Your polish!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
