What pen(s) are you using today?

So far today, it's been the Red Shadow Wave Vac, newly refilled with its usual diet of Waterman Mysterious Blue -- that ink just looks SOOOOO good coming out of that pen....

Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

I started with my Conway Stewart 100 expecting to commit to it for the day, but the talk about Onoto steel nibs in another thread made me realize I hadn’t picked up my Onoto Scholar in a long time.   Really enjoying the fact that it’s the same nib as in the Magna. Very smooth.

There was a time when I was convinced that Conway Stewart pens were easily the absolute best writing pen one could own.  Then I bought my first Onoto, a Magna.

I keep 7 pens on a little stand on my desk.  A few months ago it was generally 5 CS and 2 Onotos.   Now it’s 4-3 - advantage Onoto!

Ha!  I have three pens on my desk and five in a little stand.  I use the ones on the desk and the other ones are "on deck," for use once I have used up one of the desk pens.

Right now, the pens on my desk are:

Retro 51 Tornado "Cherry Blossom 2025"

Sailor Cylint Scarab

Montblanc Starwalker

On deck:

Penlux Masterpiece Grande Marble Wave

Radius 1934 Settimo Miele Selvatico

Pelikan 600 Art Collection Rudi Roether

Graf von Faber-Castell Anello Granadilla

Delta Reservoir

I am really enjoying the pens I am using, but also looking forward to those coming up!

Erick

Using right now:

Jinhao 9019 "F" nib running Birmingham Firebox

Montegrappa Elmo 02 "F" nib running Carmel Sea Blue

Sailor Cylint "F" nib running Dominant Industry Seaweed

Retro 51 Tornado "F" nib running PR Red Infinity Ink

Montblanc Starwalker "F" nib running PR Tanzanite

I only have two pens inked at the moment.  An Onoto Magna and a CS Duro.

The Duro has done what is often does.  The nib has dried out only days after being newly inked.  I'll be putting the CS Belliver back in rotation at the weekend.

If I were going to purchase a Lamy, which I might, it would be this Candy Violet, and I think I would get the ink as well. Wow. Scrumptious!

Today, like most days it is a Montblanc No. 22 with a medium stub nib using Rohrer & Kingner Slaix ink.  The other is a Deltograph 2 technical drafting pen with a .80 MM tip, also using the Rohrer & Kingner Slaix ink.

Sticking with my Onoto scholar today.   But probably changing inks after a drop of water nearly wiped out some critical notes.

I haven't had that happen in a very long time.  I try to keep tea, water, etc. well away from anything I'm writing.

What I have had happen that is equally annoying, is while typing on my laptop, it/I somehow - magically - highlight and delete text while I'm trying to correct a typographical error.  I can only guess one of my hands must hover too closely to the pad and cause it to do the 'evil deed'.

N.B.  Any wisdom regarding the matter will be gratefully appreciated.

That is interesting.  I remember only having 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, and 0.9mm drafting (Draughting) as we spelt it.) pens.

This morning: Edison Comet in Brooks Blue Mamba with Colorverse Red Horse, Parker 75 Ciselé with Bungubox Sweet Potato Purple. These were both “project nibs,” one a custom grind by somebody else that suffered from hard starts, which I’ve now corrected, and the other a stock medium nib that I didn’t enjoy and so made into a stub myself, and which I’ve now declared “done” after a week of careful touch-ups.

At the library: a Lamy Studio in Piano Black that I don’t think I like enough to keep, with a Lamy Pink Cliff cartridge. (Or maybe it’s just called Cliff? I’ve seen it advertised both ways.)

This pretty little Danish Victory Mk V from 1955.

Waterman's Havana, because it just works and I love it.

Enjoyed using my Parker Golden Pearl inked in the remaining Parker Sapphire I have.   Just needed to be a bit special today.
