Having not yet procured tickets for Bayreuth, but several for the Deutsche Oper here in Berlin, I suspect it would be brezel sales, not popcorn in Bayreuth 😉

Vergiss nicht »Intermission Bratwurst!« 😉

I'm more concerned with remembering to get to the bar before the sausages have all sold out!! The number of times the person ahead of me bags the last ones... This is when I'm forced to choose Brezels, and am lucky if there's still a choice between with salt (on the outside), or butter (on the inside).

Using an Onoto 2000/Model O today.  Military model from roughly 1910.  Thought I had an amazing pen/ink combo with J Herbin Lie de The, but it’s a little too dry of a combo.  Really was hoping for a brown/brown match made in heaven.

Presumably this is one of the few advantages of the cheap seats: closer to the bar…

No! The cheap seats are up in the gods, the bars are down on the lower levels. Even sitting in the non-cheap seats I still don't manage to get there quick enough. The solution really is to preorder, but I don't quite trust the system that leaves orders at numbered tables with nobody supervising who picks which table and starts refreshing themselves.

Switched it up to a Conway Stewart 479 in green marble.  I love the look of the CS flat-tops and this nib is really interesting.  Very wet, but also provides a lot of control at a higher angle for small writing.  I can't remember what ink it is, but it's a pretty bluish color that has a lot of shading - I think.  I'm color blind, what do I know anyway?

Maybe he's trying to uphold tradition (sauerkraut; although that's that was a 'westie' staple; I remember German rail stations reeking of the stuff).

Nope, not even at the Imbiss next door, where there's plenty of döner, just not enough time to order, eat and get back to my seat before the interval's over!

That's a shame.  I love curry wurst and brotchen

I had a thought (That's a novelty for me, I know.).  There is an Aldis nearby.  I bought curry catsup from them a wee bit ago.  I know they carry German sausages.  I wonder if they have brotchen or something that would be a good substitute?

Sounds like you've got the makings of a good substitue there. Then a sprinkling of curry powder on top of the ketchup... (maybe lightly watered and warmed in the microwave?)

Today, I'm using the Parker x Ariel Kullock "51" in green ripple ebonite with Diamine Misty Blue, whose dryish EF nib is perfect for scribbling call numbers in my pocket notebook, and the Aurora 88 Large with a <M> nib and KWZ IG Turquoise. I probably won't be able to resist using the new Waterman 7 a little too (Mysterious Blue).

It's actually called Pearl and Black, at least in US marketing.

It is pretty! I've always seen it referred to as Pearl and Black.

No disagreement here, the official name is Pearl and Black. "Cracked ice" is the nickname that came about for this style of celluloid across all manufacturers according to my acquaintance, and the Pearl and Black Duofold fits the bill for cracked ice.

1950s Omas Ogiva Extra F. RO Gold Antiqua, but it's bit too wet.

Add lightness and simplicate.

Officially Conway Stewart No.286 unofficially the lamy studio I’m in the process of cleaning. Finally figured out how to get apart and put back together without breaking. It was well and truly gunked up. Cleaned with a cork board pin tomorrow it will get Monteverde fountain pen flush put through it to catch the last of any dried ink along with dish soap then clean water. Allowed to dry the filled Kaleidoscope pearl black. I’ve also disassembled the Nahvalur and given that a clean with a cork board pin and written a sentence or two.

Today’s pen is the new Kaweco x Galen Leather collaboration in transparent Viviante green with 1.1mm stub nib. I was going to fill a cartridge with ink, but opted for a cartridge of Kaweco Palm Green.
