So today, in honor of all my (16x3)+2 years on this blue planet, I have inked and will be using all the pens that I have received as birthday gifts in my life. Some I have repurchased as they were lost a long time ago, but they can stand in for the occasion.
Please ignore the messy desk.

Ouch seems I’m late, but congratulations! A nice set of birthday pens you have there :)

Happy Birthday Penguincollector! -> 🎂!!!

Today I'm writing out a purple Jinhao 86 F filled with Lamy Dark Lilac.

Thank you, Amanda. Ooh, I forgot all about the 86- will have to put it in the rota in a few months when I get through the inked pens.

@Penquincollector You are just a Spring chicken, or should I say Spring penguin as I almost have an addition 1/4 century on you!

I hope you had a great birthday and got some nice pens and inks.

Thank you, I do wish my joints felt more like a Spring penguin. I received a MontBlanc Bohème, Enzo Ferrari ink, and Monteverde Blue Velvet Cake.

I’ve seen blue and sepia-like versions, hope to add both to my collection one day. This pen I bought used, for cheap and it came with a Lamy converter attached so was a win-win for me :) it works perfectly even with the only shimmer ink I own, that PenBBS’s I recommended half a year ago when last visited FPN. Currently I put it aside as I have too many pens inked up right now.

I want the sepia and gunmetal grey as well. The IM in general is a good everyday pen. Thank you for the birthday wishes.

Not too shabby. Belated happy b'day. (Blue Velvet Cake is a really pretty ink.)

So far today it's been the Ciselé 75, F nib, just refilled with Waterman Tender Purple, for today's journal entry.

But have mostly been on the computer since then.  Including verbally dope-slapping some "attorney" in the UK (and by extension, the firm she allegedly works for -- telling THEM to tell the twinkie to cease and desist) for sending me spam claiming that she's trying to find "relatives" for someone who is deceased (no name mentioned of course as to I'm supposedly "related to").

Of course, if you believe my great-aunts, who were apparently very into geneaology, the family on my maternal grandmother's side traces back to Charlemagne (LITERALLY!  Mostly, of course, on "the wrong side of the blanket..." as it were ; but OMG -- there MIGHT be Native American ancestry in there as well, which my uncle, who inherited all that stuff because my mom wasn't REMOTELY interested, was convinced of being the case...).

Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

And also then explaining to someone at Corporate for the regional/local grocery store chain (in great gory detail) about the horrible experience I had yesterday in one of their stores with some employee who got it into her head at the self-serve checkout register section that I might have STOLEN someone's store card/ID, because it's not one of the locations I USUALLY shop at -- and the only reason I was in THAT store at all was because of the lousy selection of flavors of yogurt on sale (through today) at the two "normal" locations I usually shop at.  Honestly, I was starting to wonder if the store I was at yesterday was a franchise location -- and SAID so to the guy who responded to my complaint.

And a little while ago?  Got a text on my phone from the dry cleaners the next town over about wanting me to post about my recent experience on some website.  And my response to THEM?  "No, I REALLY don't think you want me to do that....  Trust me when I say that...."  Especially after I had to go back down there a couple of days after dropping the piece off to sign paperwork saying I would "understand" if they had color leaching from one section to another....  And then of course it DID happen, and I still had to cough up over $30 US to them.  For ONE ITEM.   And the reason I took it to the cleaners in the FIRST place was because I was worried about color leaching from one section to another -- which is WHY I wasn't washing it myself in cold water....  And TOLD the person at the counter that when I dropped it off last week (it's SCA garb which is silk and which was made for me by a friend when I got the top service award a number of years ago with my SCA heraldry on it...) -- white unicorns on a purple background.

I don't think they understood that my mother was once sent flowers for being "the lady who screamed" in connection with a certain World SF Con years ago in Arizona....  So I learned from the BEST!  (I swear, I'd bet that she could have given Betty Furness consumer tips... )

Not writing too much today - but I've got a Lamy AL-Star Dark Dusk EF (Lamy Azurite) going for the pain log/symptom tracker and the J16 Ebonite  (Herbin Emerald of Chivor) for task list & quick writing.  I need to get going on my transcribing today or it's not going to get done.

So far today it's been the Parker Vector "Roads" pen (think it's an M nib but don't remember for certain) newly filled with Noodler's Red Rattler Eel (which is a really nice shade of red that is RED).  And just in case I have to do any sort of paperwork -- like when the AAA tow truck driver shows up -- I've got the 51 Signet (F? nib( still with vintage Quink Permanent Royal Blue.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
