My Sailor Imperial Black agrees.

I cant stop admiring Sailor's quality and elegance and reliability. My first Sailor was a NOS discontinued Young Profit with 1911 nib, black with silver trimming, a very wee pen but how it writes! it didna dry out even after six months of being unused, like i uncapped it and it just started to write.

iirc Imperial Blacks are from Pro Gear line? am waiting for Shikiori Meigetsu which is afaik a pro gear as well and am sorta worrying that 'tis gonna be too slim and tiny for my hands... though I handle that Young Profit just fine, not sure why i worry that much. prolly 'cause that's a grail pen.

@Black16 - yes the Imperial Black is from the Pro Gear line.  I’m really happy with it.  The nib has a nice unique shape to it and the feedback is just right.  I have heard some concern about the plating on the nib but I use a syringe to fill the converter so it should be ok.  It’s a nice heavier pen, the ultimate contrast to my Chenonceau White Platinum 3776.

So far today it's been the 51 Signet (F? nib) still with vintage Quink Permanent Royal Blue, for today's morning pages journal entry.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Conway Stewart 24 in cracked ice with a medium-fine nib and Herbin Gris Galet; on campus this afternoon I'll carry a Kaweco Dia 2 with a medium CSI (on the slightly larger than stock Bock 076) from Kirk Speer, filled with Diamine Writer's Blood.

So today, in honor of all my (16x3)+2 years on this blue planet, I have inked and will be using all the pens that I have received as birthday gifts in my life. Some I have repurchased as they were lost a long time ago, but they can stand in for the occasion.
Please ignore the messy desk.

Thank you both, @ParramattaPauland @Christopher Godfrey.  It’s true, although there has definitely been a bit of both sprinkled through the years. I’m lucky to have the people in my life that I do, that have contributed so much to my health and wellbeing.

I never said 'error free'.

I freely admit that solely by the grace of God and the intervention of my guardian angel that I escaped the true consequences of innumerable bad decisions and careless actions of my wayward youth on my way to 78.

I believe that a sprinkling of both is mandatory in life, mandatory, and unavoidable. Congratulations, and thanks for sharing the photo of your birthday pens to date. Is it up to date after this birthday?

My pens today have been my white, flat-top Wing Sung 930 (some call it Junlai 930), F, inked with Akkerman Stormachtig Blauw, and my translucent blue Jinhao Dadao, EF, inked with Diamine Indigo.

@Scribs,  it is up to date, in order from most recent to first, from L to R. This year’s pen was the Bohème Noir, and the first was the Duofold Centennial from 1991.

Picked up my Red Pilot Falcon today.  It has a special dual-meaning for me, it's special as both a gift and as a representation of my work-life which I am very proud of.  The SEF nib is precise and also offers a hint of flexibility.  It's also really easy to care for, and always writes.

I'm so glad I decided to use my camera backpack to carry all my stuff to the local hobbyists' get-together last Sunday, and in doing so rediscovering my long lost Majohn/Moonman S6.

I'm not a fan of flex nibs, or calligraphic writing styles that require them, but I do like using the one Majohn made for its P136 fountain pens, because I can easily use it to write in monoline and my preferred handwriting size, while it doesn't take much effort to produce emphasis visually with it.

I’ve seen blue and sepia-like versions, hope to add both to my collection one day. This pen I bought used, for cheap and it came with a Lamy converter attached so was a win-win for me :) it works perfectly even with the only shimmer ink I own, that PenBBS’s I recommended half a year ago when last visited FPN. Currently I put it aside as I have too many pens inked up right now.

On Meigetsu the nib’s golden so I plan to use an iron gall with it mostly. I’ve seen reviews that pro gear and Shikiori line of them are too light and small, seems it’s just a subjective opinion as always. Thanks, I now have no worries that I will love this pen :) the 1911 nibs on Sailor’s pens are truly masterpieces.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
