I have my Moonman  Flex out today too..... 😀👍  It's on an Asvine V126.

You'd think Sailor would sell those plastic handles by the bag full...  🤷‍♂️

Look at that sheen! I put Polar Glow in mine. Sailor sells the holder alone, but it’s $10 and I can get a set with a Dipton ink for $20, so I just get the different inks or nibs. I’ll save money in the long run if I can get one made out of something thicker.

Top 5 (in no particular order) of 25 currently inked pens:

Parker Duofold Centennial IM, RO Rose Gold Antiqua

MontBlanc Bohème Noir F, MB Midnight Blue

Pelikan M800 needlepoint, Kuretake Shikon

MontBlanc Noblesse M, KWZ Sheen Machine 2

Wahl-Eversharp Bantam F, FC Lapis Lazuli

always looking for penguin fountain pens and stationery

Nahvalur Original Winter with an FPR 1.0 stub replacement and Dominant Industry Lapis Lazuli for the penultimate page of my journal.  It’s going to feel good to actually finish a journal for the first time at 47.

Today's pens are a  circa 1950 Sheaffer Sentinel with vintage Waterman's Carnation Red, and a Parker 51, also from 1950, with non vintage Sheaffer blue/black.

I saw those handles....  I agree, you'll do better with a custom nib holder.

I got more sheen on Tomoe River-S than I got on the thin Bank Paper.

Finally having some time off I've elected to make it urushi week...so my Namiki Capless Raden stripe and my Nakaya long writer in Aki Tamenuri have been inked up.  The Capless with Diamine Sunset orange and the Nakaya with Iroshizuku Kon Peki.

An urushi weeks sounds like one of the nicest choices! Perhaps I'll get my rotations well organised in the future to start setting specific themes . . . For the moment I seem to be swapping around from what happens to be currently inked, or caving to a specific craving, even if it means inking up yet another pen.

Today there has been a very surprising theme, though: I started out using my white flat top Wing Sung 930, F, inked with Akkerman Stormachtig Blauw, and then reached for the Jinhao clear Dadao, EF, inked with Lamy Crystal Obsidian, which I seem to be unable to put down, much to my surprise.

Today was a day of keyboard work, housecleaning and visiting with a friend, but I did use the Parker 51 Signet (Herbin Bleu Verrerie) for a while.

I'm still using a Lamy 2000 Makrolon EF filled with Diamine Misty Blue. Second fill... The ink does seem to have tamed the line width. After sitting in a pen drawer unloved for 3 years we're actually starting to get along. It just needed the right ink. There's a lesson there. The other is that I think I will be requiring Misty Blue in the larger bottle. 💙

Will work for pens...

5 pens came home today but since I can’t keep writing with all of them, I’ll choose the Conway Stewart 55 in Blue Marble with Diamine Blue Velvet to match.  Nib is a freshly ground Medium to Broad CI from Mark Bacas and I love it.    The feedback still feels almost like a sharpie, which doesn’t sound great but it feels nice.

Been a Parker day for me.

First it was the Red Shadow Wave Vac (F nib) still with Waterman Mysterious Blue -- for today's journal entry.

Then later it was the Lapis Duofold Senior (EF? nib) -- just refilled with Waterman Intense Black, and the Midnight Blue 45, F nib, still with vintage Quink Permanent Blue Black; both for making general notes about stuff I needed to do today; and the 45 also for signing in when I went to get my allergy shots this afternoon.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Waterman Laureat extra fine wih the horrible Waterman encre violette and my MB fine medium with Herbin Perle Noire mixed with Yama Guri.

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

Conway Stewart 55 still for journaling and Platinum 3776 Chenonceau UEF.  Amazed at how much smoother the UEF is after Mark Bacas fixed it up.  It came from the factory with one time longer than the other and misaligned.

I’ve been using a very long, thin novelty pen that has shimmering particles suspended liquid inside the end of barrel where the piston would be (it’s a c/c). It has a very basic F nib and Lamy Safari style clip. I have a short Quink cartridge in it. Here’s the retailer’s picture:

Fantastic ink choices!   I have a Jinhao Dadao and truth be told one of my best writers - better than pens 100x its cost.

Looks great, @JasonR, and I like the term “marker-like” or “Sharpie-like” feedback, that immediately captures an experience I recognize from certain  pens!

Today, I'm using a Dove Grey "51" Vac from 1947 with a GF cap and a fine nib, filled with Pelikan 4001 Turquoise (to replace the Lamy Turquoise I'd had in the Desiderata Pen Co. Chiaroscuro, and also to replace the "51" Signet I was using yesterday, both of which are now cleaned out).

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
