What pen(s) are you using today?

I wasn't familiar with the Logo model, so just looked it up.  Saw one that did look a LOT like a Parker Vector, except for what appeared to be a grooved section grip, and another one which seemed to have a plastic section (more like on a Safari or al-Star).

Of course, the prices I was seeing were about DOUBLE what I've ever paid for a Vector (at MOST)....

Out and about today so I have my Danish Victory and Waterman’s Havana Brown along with me.

It’s been riding shotgun with my Field Notes book for years.

Taccia still in use today. @ScribsIm with you on the Pilot nibs. I think the most consistently pleasant from any manufacturer. And @InkyProfyep, the modern 14K Pelikan nibs are stiff. From 2020 should still write well. Their more recent nibs and the issues we had with the nibs on Kim’s M600 Glauco Cambon and my black tortoise M605 have me off buying any new Pelikans. @Amberjackis that a Geology field book? Nice setup.

Today I am finishing up the last of Herbin Kyanite du Nepal in my Frankensonnet. My friend B from pen club gave me this fired titanium bodied pen with a fine steel Parker Sonnet nib and section. I like it because it doesn’t dry out. It’s been inked for a few months now and I haven’t had any hard starts. It’s down to whatever is in the feed.

Top 5 (in no particular order) of 30 currently inked pens:

Parker Duofold Centennial IM, RO Rose Gold Antiqua

Parker Duofold Lady needlepoint, MB Cool Grey

Pelikan M800 needlepoint, Kuretake Shikon

Platinum PKB 2000, Platinum Cyclamen Pink

Waterman 52 EF, Herbin Bleu Pervenche

A Lamy Logo, similar in concept to the Parker Vector mentioned above and it always works. I even left the pen uncapped overnight and it still worked this morning.

Found in a Goodwill store a few years ago, cost me 50p which is about 60c.

And your point is?

Did it come with a converter? 😉

I just went back to find your story about those two 600/605 nibs. I'm glad it ended well! But I get the reticence; at this point, I'm so unenthusiastic about the nibs, even if they write well out of the box, that I don't really find myself coveting contemporary Pelikans (I would suffer through a one-chick medium for the sake of a Raden Sunrise, but, hey, I'd also like a pony and a spaceship.)

My favorite cheap pen: the Parker Vector. I always keep a couple on my desk with my pencils.IMG_3914.thumb.jpeg.0b61e5c5584d702dad2cf1c9013a9b93.jpeg

I like the Seiko cup. It has a mid century feel.

Thanks, I like it too! It probably is mid-century… I got it on eBay. I have a minor seiko problem 😬

(well I tried to post nine, but only the first three fit within the file size restriction 😂)

Very nice, I particularly like the rectangular case. Waiting to see if I’m getting a really neat 21 jewel. My fave jeweler had it and I asked for a clean and lube before I bought. Watchmaker found an issue, fingers crossed they can fix. And as @Misfit said there is indeed a pen and watch thread. Which I’ve resisted so far ha! @InkyProf I have two one chick nibs I like. One is attached to a M800 and the other to a M1000!

Seriously, what’s better than Bellmatics? Nothing! That rectangular case watch is a 6602 hand wind from 1970.

Well, since you asked, I’m kind of partial to this one. Happened to have it on today so pic is best I could grab with iPad, NOT the easiest thing to photograph. 340 cal. Gift from Kim’s mom, it was Kim’s grandfather’s watch, so just special on many levels. Sorry folks, back to your regularly scheduled show!

Thanks, it has served me well for years.

It's not specific to geology no, but 'field notes' do make it in frequently.

FIELD NOTES (caps intentional bec that's their logo) is a brand of note books printed in Chicago.

They have a different theme every season and with few exceptions, they've all tolerated fountain pens well.

Today has been a bit of a Nakaya day today, apart from the Leonardo MZG Ondo Blue with the #8 EF nib inked with Akkerman Vermeer Blue (cerulian) which I used for my morning pages. The Nakayas (both in aka-tamenuri) are once again my Piccolo Writer, F, inked with Platinum Blue-Black, and the Dorsal Fin 2 with SF nib and Pilot Black ink.

You are very welcome. I miss self-winding watches. I’m not good about getting new batteries for watches.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
