Vintage green marble Onoto 6234.  I had the nib in a 6233 BCHR and swapped it to the new body this morning.   Filled with J Herbin Gris Galet.

This is what I do- I keep a small bottle of distilled water in my ink cabinet. It looks like a contact lens solution bottle, can’t remember where I bought it, but there should be an equivalent on Amazon or somewhere you can buy reusable travel bottles.

A repurposed glass ink bottle will work nicely too! Thank you for the inspiration.

An empty ink bottle would do it too, if one happens to have any laying around . . .

ETA: I should've scrolled all the way down and read all entries before posting, woops!

Today's Pen ...... the same one I've been using daily since February 2nd when I bought it:

      Dryden Deluxe

Here on The PenNetwork I've found a couple of comments about Dryden:  that it is Chinese, and maybe German, and perhaps even American ???

I got a great deal (less than $20) and couldn't resist.  When I received it I got it loaded up with one of the supplied cartridges and got to writing.  And I've been incredibly impressed ever since.

It always writes as soon as nib touches paper, never any hesitation, never any "dry," never any skip.  I've been using two notebooks, each has 120gsm paper.

The writing feel is very very smooth.  The pen gets a daily "write" session, just a line or two in each notebook.  "Fantastic" is a word that gets a lot of use, and it definitely applies to this Dryden.  I am very impressed and happy.

Sounds as if your experience with this brand has been quite positive. Please keep us informed from time to time as to your continuing experiences with the pen, especially if you are using different inks and papers.

Also note that over time, being Chinese made has lost much/most/all? of its implied negative implications.

Wishing you continued enjoyment in your use of this pen.

Today it's been various pens that I had worked on/rehabbed at the Baltimore Washington Pen Show this year:

     1) Parker (Senior?) Duofold, Lapis Lazuli, F? nib -- Waterman Intense Black

     2) Parker 45, Midnight Midnight Blue, F? nib -- Waterman Serenity Blue (I think...)

     3) Parker Duofold (Junior?), Moderne Black & Pearl, F? nib -- diluted Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black

Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

I have water in a teeny tiny mini jam jar. No spills. One at each of the places around the house and studio I use pens. Western Australia is hot and dry much of the year, ehich is tough on fountain pens, but do-able.

The little ink well with lid that Paul showed is much nicer...

Today's pen is a Retro51 35th Anniversary F with Diamine Aurora Borealis. It has not shown any inclination to dry out since I got it last October. I'm impressed.

Will work for pens...

I have water in a sample container by my chair. It’s in a small pencil box with a few  paper  towels.

I have water in a sake cup that I got from Frank Fiorella of Pendemonium (sadly no longer with us) at the Dallas show years ago. It sits in a slightly larger clear container in case of spills.

May I suggest an ink well with a lid?  May include: A clear glass inkwell with a silver hinged lid. The lid has a round opening in the center.

Something like this could work as well, I suppose:

Alas, having seen the realities of bureaucracy from the inside, some of us have divorced our selves from the inner bureaucrat and become ennamoured with the inner libertarian.

I was jotting down some computer configurations in a Clairefontaine 11x17cm wire notebook for a family member, when the Pelikan M600<F> w/ Horizon Blue I was using started to skip on the paper.  I switched to a Leonardo MZ<F> w/ Edelsten Sapphire and that skipped too.  Then I switched to an Asvine J17<M> w/ Corlorverse Quasar and finished writing... without any skipping.  I went back over the 'skip' areas with the J17/Quasar to see if it would write in the areas where the other pens skiped.  The J17/Quasar had no problems writing.  🤷‍♂️

Yesterday afternoon I switched to notetaking with an Asvine J16 ebonite piston-filler in the ominously named "Glacial Runoff" colorway (a mottled blue-green that my inner sarcast wants to call "Data Center Swirl" or "Idling Minivan"), fitted with an EEF JoWo #6 nib from fpnibs.com, and filled with Callifolio Grenat, a lovely muted magenta. The nib is terrific: smooth enough given its narrow width, produces a sub-.15mm line if used with a light touch, and stays in EF territory even writing fast in the Yu-Sari notebook. The pen is also impressive at its price point: well-balanced, good fit and finish (though the garish cap band detracts significantly from the look). This will be a welcome addition to my growing battery of campus-carry pens with very fine points.

This morning, back to the Bayard mottled red ebonite lever-filler.

Interesting, is this the 90gsm "velouté" paper? That's a paper I really never connected with, and this behavior is ringing a bell.

Today so far it's been;

Montblanc Origins Classique, F, inked with J. Herbin Ambre de Birmanie

Nakaya Dorsal Fin 2, SF (see below), still inked with Pilot Black

regular black Lamy 2000 EF inked with Edelstein Moonstone

A disclaimer of sorts, I do also use my pens for normal, regular, and generally a little more legible writing that's kept legible by not rotating the page.

For @lamarax resting atop my senseless scribbles-just-to-enjoy-the-pens-without-purpose scraps of paper (thriftly scribbling between the lines, paper turned 180 degrees), the aka-tamenuri DF2. image.thumb.jpeg.d4b51bff57631e70698a0d7241a7bf0b.jpeg

MontBlanc Bohème Noir F, MB Midnight Blue

Pelikan M800 needlepoint, Kuretake Shikon

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
