@boilermaker1975You seem a little blue lately,,,, I did get the Waterman Mysterious Blue today.  Inspired Blue will be here Monday, along with Poussiere de Lune, Vert De Gris and Gris Galet.   I've been all about blues and greys this month.

@JasonR Any shade of blue will do! My next blue to try will be Inspired blue as soon as I use up what is in my Bronze Age.

OMGoodness!

Someone really did create a great deal of happiness in the world and redefine the word "Color-FULL-ness!"

Somewhere out there are some very appreciative dealers who can now pay their bills and invest in new stock for their shelves

A grey day is really a silver one that needs Your polish!

Today, I sat down to use my Leonardo Momento Zero Pausilya with its replacement flex EF steel nib, kindly provided by Stilo & Stile after the first nib proved to have an asymmetrically placed nib slit that resulted in a scratchy pen. Inked with R&K Verdigris. This nib is much better, but not perfect: it suffers from some hard starts that I think might be related to what looks like an overpolished inner tine on one side (“half-a**ed baby’s bottom?”). Anyway, this I think I can fix myself, if it persists. Otherwise it writes really well.

ETA: it persisted; I fixed it. Now this pen is just right. (And this should not detract even a little from how pleased I am with Stilo & Stile's customer service: they tested the new nib in the shop before sending it and sent the test sheet along as a record; it appears to have worked fine for them.)

So far, today I've used the Dusty Rose Duovac, F? nib, just refilled with Waterman Serenity Blue.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

So far today it's been the Leonardo MZG 'Masterpiece' (rosewood ebonite, EF) again with Leonardo Red Passion, and the Sailor x Wancher Realo (champagne green) EF still with Pilot Black. And no doubt later I'll be reaching for the still new, and still surprisingly good Otto Hutt design 07 sterling silver pinstripes, EF likewise inked with Pilot Black (I like black inks, and I've a huge bottle of this relatively water resistant black to keep me going for a while).

@boilermaker1975 Now that's what I call a stash of ink!

Swapped out the ink in my Magna from black to Diamine Oxford Blue - it was one of the small bottles, dumb dumb dumb.  I was that guy, ink on the desk, ink on my hands.  Hopefully some made it into the pen.  The ink has since been decanted into a glass bottle I picked up at a little shop in Ireland called The Pen Place in Dun Laoghaire.    But back on topic - currently using the Magna with Oxford Blue

Bummer, sorry. I have little 3D-printed anti-tip holders for ink sample vials (made by someone else), but your experience makes me think I should try making a little cradle for Diamine-sized ink bottles out of high density foam...

It didn't tip over, just over -pressure and it was a full bottle with a giant Magna nib going into it.  Really not my smartest move.

Well, at least now I can say “it could have been worse”? Not sure that helps, though; a little slosh goes a long way. Condolences.

Those 30 ml plastic Diamine bottles are a disaster waiting to happen. I'm thinking they keep them in circulation in order to promote their 80 ml ones; I can't find any other explanation :)

My first bottle of Diamine ink was a 30 ml bottle of Oxford Blue. I have bought 36 bottles of Diamine ink since then and they have all been 80 ml bottles. I will never buy another 30 ml bottle.

For small bottles, I eye dropper the ink into an ink miser to fill my pen from.

Yeah I’m not a fan of the 30mls.  And after seeing Oxford blue on the page it might be an immediate buy of an 80ml coming.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
