@Misfit @Amberjack @USG - Thank you :)

This is where the fun begins with the M1000. This nib responds very well to modifications. I'll also show a comparison of the nib tips and line width with the Pelikan M200 EF and the Sailor 1911 21k HF:

This is a tip for those who would like to have a truly thin line in the M1000 ;)

Great line widths, and such fun photos with the dice in them.

I chose a B Nagahara stub for my FC 66. Wonderful nib!

To find a B nib or another one besides fine and medium has become quite hard.

I have one 75 in the laque finish and one in the standard Parker stainless flighter version. That one has a factory stub, and you're right. They're not exactly thick on the ground; it's the only one I've seen.

Inking up a mottled green Onoto 5601 to give it a test run for the day.  The nib is a little bent and needs to be fixed up by Kirk Speer at the CA Pen show in a couple of weeks.

This vintage Sheaffer lever fill. I don’t know anything about it: I bought it restored on eBay for $27 a while ago. But it has a nice springy 14K nib with a very fine line.

Parker Duofold Junior in Mandarin, medium nib, blue-black Quink, until I broke it.🤬

Replaced it with a Parker "51" Custom aerometric, UK, burgundy, medium or maybe broad nib, with Waterman Inspired Blue. Nice pen but probably too broad for me for everyday use.

What broke, the button fill mechanism? The mandarin color is that rare yellow one, right? Share a picture if you get a chance! I’ve always wanted an old Duofold Big Red.

That's a terrific deal for a nice pen.

I'm tempted to call it a Craftsman - but it appears to have a Feathertouch No 5 nib.  The Craftsman usually had a No. 33 gold nib.

Look for a 3 or 4 digit imprint on the barrel, underneath the factory maker's mark.

That's the retail price - e.g. 875 means it was supposed to sell for 875.  That can help with ID, if you're interested.

Yes, it's the yellow color; and as I was perfectly well aware, Mandarin Permanite is also relatively fragile. But a Junior Duofold, for me, is really a little too small to use unposted, so I posted the pen as delicately as possible; and then, of course, when I felt the cap move, reflexively put my thumb on the cap top to snug it down -- and put a centimeter-long hairline crack in the cap lip. Entirely predictable, entirely avoidable. Probably also entirely repairable, but for the moment I'm too busy kicking myself.

I'm waiting for the right Big Red to come along, too. I have two red/orange Juniors, one of which was an unexpected six-dollar thrift store find, but no Seniors, and this really underscores that I need to fix -- er, correct that. 🙂

Decided to ink up my misbehaving 51 again, in hopes that it’ll actually work this time. Wrote almost 3 pages and it’s still putting down a nice line, but you never know if it’s actually okay now, or if it’s running on whatever’s inside the collector.

Fingers crossed!

Fingers crossed for Sheaffer’s future

…what do you mean you got that for $27? You’re telling me those prices still exist?!

Fingers crossed for Sheaffer’s future

I gave up on mine.  I think it has a good home now.  Best of luck with yours.

Thanks, though I really hope it works; this thing was a gift, and for all the grief it’s given me, I still can’t give up on it.

Fingers crossed for Sheaffer’s future

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
