Today, modern pens:

Wahl-Eversharp Modern Skyline, black & gold, <F>, with Taccia Koiame;

Aurora 88 Large, black & gold, <M>, with KWZ IG Turquoise.

And at the library I'll have my Lamy Studio in Piano Black, <EF>, which is to say <M>, with a Lamy Cliff cartridge.

That is just sooo pretty. Is that "cracked ice"?

I have one and I believe Parker called it Cream and Black.

So far today, it's been the Dusty Rose Laidtone Duofod, F? nib, just refilled last night with Waterman Serenity Blue.  Not quite sure of the size of the pen, with it's got a •2• date code on the barrel, and has a 1/8" wide cap band, surrounded on each side with couple of skinny (maybe 1/32" wide) ones.

Midday, I bailed on the Wahl-Eversharp Modern Skyline after a couple of pages of writing with Taccia Koiame, flushed it, and replaced it with an Edison Comet, in Brooks Blue Mamba, with a stainless steel JoWo stub in M (my one-and-only "swirly" pen, which I like because the pattern in the material is actually very even and all-over, which keeps it looking balanced). Filled it with Colorverse 2026 Red Horse (standard). Very nice medium dark brick-red with moderate shading. Even better after a trip to the workbench to tinker with the nib.

Pilot Custom 74, fine nib with Oxford Blue ink. One of my favorites.

Taccia Granite Stone Fountain Pen - Yellow GT w/ Sailor Steel Zoom nib using Diamine Sapphire Blue ink.

My first real experience with a Zoom nib. Interesting enough to make me want to learn how to use it better.

There was chatter here in the last week or so about cartoon pens. Here's what I have: a Lamy Safari with a bear on the clip, an extra fine nib and Lamy Sepia ink.

I love the chocolate brown and the cute bear. Adorable. Ink is pretty, too!

Lamy Safari Aqua Sky M (stubbed by me) and Pilot Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo. Waiting to see if it will leak...

I'm testing a bunch of 'compatible' converters in my mottley assortment of Lamy pens. Of the fifteen converters I bought from AliExpress two are already in the bin cos they jammed in the barrels (one Al-Star and one Safari) then broke when extracted. Six more were 'catching' in their barrels (three Safari, one Nexx and two Al-Star) so they were pulled before they got properly stuck. The rest seem OK, but do they leak? The fit on the nipple isn't that great even if they don't sound crunchy when the barrel goes on.

A Z28 down here is almost double the UK or US prices. (Why?)  Anyway the 'compatible' ones looked worth a try, but clearly they aren't actually compatible with all the Safari and Al-Star colours. Just some.

So yeah, it will probably be back to syringe filling Lamy cartridges for me even if my New Year resolution was to get all my pens sorted out. I already did the Kaweco, Sailor and Pilot at fair prices, but Lamy? Nope.

Will work for pens...

How could a Rheingold be anything other than a grail pen? Especially the Nib(elungen). 😉

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
