What pen(s) are you using today?

Today, at least so far, it's been the recently flushed out marbled green No Nonsense, M nib, with Noodler's Akhmatova (which kept alternating on the pages in my current Milquelrius journal between a sort of "burnt orange" and a medium brown... ).

Today’s pen is the Lamy Safari Strawberry with 1.1mm italic nib filled with Colorverse Eyes on the Universe Hubble red ink.

The Lamy Safari Strawberry is lovely! The Eye on the Universe inks are gorgeous!

Looking to buy a Delta Chatterley Stantuffo Fusion Star Cage.

With all the rain we are having here in Silverdale, WA, I'm using my Phileas Extra Bold Chartres Blue Waterman inked in Larmes de Cassis.

Finished up my Parker 51 Flighter (filled with Barock Marine) and cleaned it out; now have switched to a Montblanc Super Carrera with a very wet fine nib, filled with Akkerman Scharlaken van Jan Steen -- a deep, bloody red somewhere between scarlet and crimson, with some shading and outlining.

I currently have three pens in my pen pouch that I'm using:

  • Montblanc 146 <F> (1980s) with Pilot Iroshizuku tsuki-yo
  • Montblanc 24 <F> Bordeaux with Diamine Writer's Blood
  • Pilot Custom Heritage 74 <FM> Translucent Blue with Pelikan Edelstein Topaz

They all write very very nicely.

Montegrappa Elmo 01 with a steel broad nib.

A new colleague saw the pen and complimented me on it.

It surprised me somewhat as it is one of my EDC workaday pens. - She tried it and liked the weight and the wet broad nib (I had had it tuned at the London Pen Show - without which it was a useless writer).

Been a Parker day for me: the recently restored Dusty Rose Laidtone Duovac, F? nib -- still with Waterman Serenity Blue; and the Midnight Blue (?) Parker 45, F nib -- still with vintage Quink Permanent Blue Black.

Tried to replace the 51 Flighter with a different 51 (a Kullock) but it's having technical difficulties, so instead I inked up the new JiF-Waterman Super Cartouche with Waterman Inspired Blue. The large 80mm glass cartridge took 2ml of ink with room to spare, and the 18c no. 6 nib is a joy -- smooth, controlled, fine and moderately flexible. The pen is big enough for me to use comfortably unposted and I prefer it that way.

Today I'm using the Aurora Internazionale in <B> for which I've paid through my nose some moons ago, but then somehow disregarded.

It's inked with J. Herbin Cacao du Brésil (not shown in the picture) 😛

Oh, that’s a great ink choice. I think I might have that ink. Maybe for the Plaisir. I do need an empty cartridge. I think I know now where to find one.

Another great pen InkyP.  Any chance of seeing the glass cartridge?

Hi Lamarax

I was unfamiliar with that pen and looked it up, very nice 👍😀....  Very vintage-grail looking. 😀👍

Today I have a Conway Stewart Churchill Heritage “Meeting jaw to jaw is better than war” LE in EF.   Hefty pen and it was fun to use it for the first time - inked up with Barock Jade.

Thank you! A photo of the cartridge will have to wait until it’s empty: since the blind cap is what snugs the cartridge into the section, I’m a little reluctant to mess with it while it’s filled…

Christmas card time so I’ve got a Pelikan m800 italic broad and a Montblanc 149 Curved Calligraphy nib inked up.  Looking for any excuse to write and fire one of those ink guzzlers up!
