I have been using a Lamy Safari F with Diamine Havasu Turquoise and I don’t love it. I think tonight I will switch over to one of the bird pens for comfort.

Top 5 (in no particular order) of 25 currently inked pens:

Parker Duofold Centennial IM, RO Rose Gold Antiqua

MontBlanc Bohème Noir F, MB Midnight Blue

Pelikan M800 needlepoint, Kuretake Shikon

MontBlanc Noblesse M, KWZ Sheen Machine 2

Waterman 52 EF, Herbin Bleu Pervenche

Today it's been a couple of Parkers: the recently repaired Dusty Rose Laidtone Duovac, F? nib, still with Waterman Serenity Blue; and the Looney Toons Sylvester the Cat Vector, F nib, still with Noodler's #41 Brown.

But over the weekend, I also was using the Pelikan M120 Iconic Blue, M nib, still with Pelikan 4001 Blue Black, and the Sheaffer Star Wars R2D2 pen, M nib, still with vintage Skrip Permanent Red.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Having surrendered to the fact that the Sailor Rikyucha ink in my Franklin-Christoph Model 20 "Autumn Oak" was not to my liking (goes down greenish but dries a dull dark brown) I emptied and cleaned that pen and replaced it in the tray with my recently arrived Radius  x Stilo & Stile Settimo, in a gold-flecked tortoise acrylic, inked with KWZ Old Gold, which has very nice shading.

Oh wow, I just also acquired the Radius  x Stilo & Stile Settimo pen, which I haven't inked yet.  How does it write?

The Radius reminds me of the color of my Stipula Etruria Magnifica Miele Selvatico, which is a marvelous writer.

Using right now:

Jinhao 9019 "F" nib running Birmingham Firebox

Sailor Princess Kayuga "MF" nib running Noodler's Black Swans in Australian Roses

Opus 88 Minty Year of the Snake "F" niub running Birmingham Sugar Kelp

Pelikan M200 "EF" nib running Birmingham Inks Tesla Coil

After the first couple of pages, I think it writes very well. I went with a steel nib, presumably a JoWo, in flex fine -- not that I was actually looking for or expecting true flex; I just wanted something different from my other SS nibs. It does have some pleasant softness, and it was well-tuned. Comfortable to hold, with presence but not oversized. I believe @dms525 got one too.

Yes, I see the resemblance (and that's a very nice looking pen)! Maybe the little veins of gold are more pronounced in the Radius, but certainly cousins.

Flex battle today: Ranga 8B with Monty Winnfield Vario wet noodle nib, Stipula Ventidue with V flex nib, and Pilot 912 FA nib with FNF ebonite feed.

Loving them all but as of right now the 912 is my favorite.  The Ranga with Monty nib is the most unusual and still writes very well.   The Stipula was a bargain - $60 for a legit flex competitor.

I have several Radius 1934 pens - a couple of the "Superior" model with gold nibs and a half dozen with steel nibs. All are stubs, and all write flawlessly. I do believe that the more recently produced ones write a bit better - smoother but still with excellent line variation for italic calligraphy.

Salvatore says he personally tunes every nib on the pens Leonardo produces before they ship. And I think his skills have improved over the past 8 years. It's hard to believe, but Leonardo released their first pens only in 2017.

I see the resemblance of the Settimo Radici material to the Stipula Miele Selvatico. I have been impressed that recent Italian-made resins look a lot like some of the older celluloids.

Enjoy your new Settimo!

Would love to see some writing samples of the above noted pens/nibs, if possible.

Thank you and enjoy them all...

My apology for the delayed reply - had trouble finding time to get it done.  Please forgive my poor penmanship!

Thank you for the writing samples.

Also, your initials on the bottom of the post are both subtle and "cool".

Nice moves...

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
