Extra Fine Nib Ink Review: KWZ Walk Over Vistula

This is review #152 in my series.  Here's the YouTube video:

Post-recording notes: Cleaning was easy, but took slightly longer than usual, suggesting the ink is very saturated (with dye). That dry time test even smeared onto my desk!  First time for that (as far as I recall). The cameras sapped all the green out of the images. No idea why! The AP and zoom images, especially, but also the video and screen capture lack the green lean.  The scan, however, is very close to the true color, but a little too light.

And here is a screen of the final result, for those not interested in the video:

Great job Liz   The ink looks intriguing but not enough to sample :)

That must be a very shy staff, unless Makhabesh exchanged it for a piece of wood :D to tease Quin.....

Unless you really like blues that lean slightly green, probably not. I have many in this range, and this wasn't unique enough to interest me further.  Though my photos / scan don't do the color justice, so anyone who's even a little interested would do well to do a google image search and view a wider range of images.

 Well, given the unique shape and the crystal on top, it would be pretty hard for Makhabesh to replace it.  But yes, the staff doesn't seem prepared to reveal its own name.

I thought it was a branch of an ironwood. I must have missed the part where /if it grew a crystal.... :D

:) Review 146 - Diamine Graphite:

Quote

The staff protruded from the tree's trunk, held only by its tip. "Take this staff made from root and branch," the tree continued, "with strength and wisdom drawn from her who knows all who live upon her sphere." The branch and root entwined from the base to merge into a smooth, round handhold, then twined again to the top, where they split into tendrils holding a crystal sphere streaked like the tree's flowers.

I tried this ink a while back after someone suggested it as a replacement for MB Leo Tolstoy LE (but it was a little too teal green leaning).

But thanks, as always, for the review.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Beautiful handwriting, I like how every letter is rolling unimpeded in every direction. Makes for a wonderful experience.

:blush::) Thank you!

:) You're most welcome!  (And yes, this is a little greener than Tolstoy.)

Thanks as always for these cool reviews.  But—-holy dry time, Batman!

(I do have a couple of KWZ 'spoiled birthday cake smell' sample vials, just not this color. )

Is there a way to get notified when you post a new review here?

(Having stalled in my own 'novel' I'm having fun reading your continuing tale.  Makhabesh for the win!)

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

I have KWZ Warsaw Dreaming. It needs the regular morning rinse under the faucet, but pretty good otherwise.

 That's probably as much the pen as the ink.

You're most welcome, thank you, and .  Yeah, this one smeared right off onto my desk...  Even if that was somehow and over-saturated feed, still...

Well, you could go to my profile and "follow" me, though that would notify you of everything I post, not just new reviews.  If you use Firefox or Chrome and are willing to install the Stylus add-on, I could make you a style that would somehow highlight my review posts - we'd have to discuss how.  I have it bold and change the color of the sub-forum name for a couple of sub-forums.

:D   You could also have YouTube notify you when I post a new video - it's extremely rare for me to post anything other than reviews.  If you use RSS feeds, I could figure out how to make one for my website that just includes the article where I post the story - assuming such a feed will notify you of updates (I really haven't ever done anything with RSS feeds, I just know they exist and could be added to my website).  And there's always instagram - like YT, I hardly ever post anything other than ink reviews there.  I'm open to other ideas if anyone has them.

Thank you as always @LizEF - another very useful review, even if only to tell me that I still don't want this one!

You're welcome!  And thanks! :)  What, you don't want your desk to have blue-green smears? ;)

Thanks for the review. If the scan best reflects the colour, I’m liking it. Blues that meander towards another colour are more to my liking than pure blues. The colour in the scan leans green without crossing into teal territory… nice!

I feel the same - blue blue bores me.  And yes, this one leans green without going all the way to teal. :)

Here's the line width measurement. The line is one of those used for dry time.  Magnification is 100x.  The grid is 100x100µm.  The scale is 330µm, with eleven divisions of 30µm each.  The line width for this ink is roughly 240µm - about the thinnest line width I've seen so far!  (On the left of the line (microscope images are flipped), you can see where this line smeared as part of the dry time test. :D )
