Thanks @JungleJim for the sample. A very interesting colour for those who enjoy chameleon inks. This ink may look brown or purple or both depending on paper /angle. 

Just look at the chroma:

However, look at the richness and beauty of this ink with a wide/ wet fude nib. The paper is the thick Tomoe River 68 gr.

I would say that the only downside to this ink, is shipping price. If you don't plan to buy a pen from and live outside of US, well you need to forget about it smile.png :D





• Pens used: Jinhao 450 fude/ medium nib. 
• Shading: Quite a bit
• Ghosting: Not really.
• Bleed through: Depends on paper nib/ combination.  
• Flow Rate: Excellent
• Lubrication: Great
• Nib Dry-out: No
• Start-up: No
• Saturation: Nice and dark
• Shading Potential: Yes
• Sheen: Faint and only on Tomoe River paper
• Spread / Feathering / Woolly Line: Not noticed…
• Nib Creep / “Crud”: Didn’t notice. 
• Staining (pen): Easy to clean…
• Clogging: Nope
• Water resistance: Some
• Availability: 1 oz / 2 oz (28 /56 ml) bottles from their website/.

PS: Nice set of galleries! :D

 

(But I suspect you won't want to continue with one gallery per ink - you only get 50 galleries, but each can have up to 100 photos.  FYI.)

Thanks. I got it. I'll post all my review photos in one folder. I tend to get messy with my photos.... :D

I find I usually have to experiment to find what works best for me, but in this case, where we're limited to 50 galleries, it sort of limits your options.  Fortunately, you can rename galleries (whether that impacts already-placed photos, I don't know).  Speaking of which - don't edit your photos (even the description) once you've used them in a post or they won't be linked in the post any longer (they may look like they are to you, because of caching, but others who don't have the page cached won't see your photos).  Or, if you edit the photo, go back and re-add it to your post.

 

Comments don't have this problem - you can freely make those.

I love the colour of this ink but it has some issues. One, you mention - it really does need a big wet nib to get the most from it. Unfortunately, unlike your experience, I found it lacked lubrication and on certain papers could feel very dry almost to the point of a gritty feeling.

Interesting. Jonah's are wet pens. So that probably mitigated it. And TR 68 paper is very soft and smooth...

Nice writeup @yazeh - thank you :)

 

It looks an interesting ink - not one that appeals a great deal to me personally on a number of levels, but I thoroughly enjoyed seeing it shown off!

Thank you for sharing this review!  Sorry I missed it before.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
