There have been a few reviews of Scribo pens and a few threads posing questions about them, but no topics devoted to this relatively new maker of fine fountain pens. So, this can be a place to post photos of your Scribo Feel and Scribo Piuma pens (and others Scribo might add to their range), as well as comments.

For starters, here are photos of my two Scribo Piuma:

Both of my Piumas have Broad nibs custom ground to cursive italic.

Enjoy!

Thanks for showing these pens, David.

The Scribos intrigue me, especially in view of the nibs, but I'm still not sufficiently convinced by that huge step down to the section.

There are so many pens around, why should I buy one (nor cheap at that) with such an odd shape?

I know it's been mentioned it's really not uncomfortable, but that's subjective, I'm afraid I will not be buying one any time soon unless they come out with a more "typical" pen shape...

That step-down gave me pause as well, but I took a chance, and I think I won this one.  The step-down doesn't bother me in the least. Of course, that may or may not be true for you. I hope you can find one to try in a shop, at a show or in a friend's collection.

As for the nibs, they are really splendid. I have the 18 kt non-flexible ones. They are actually a bit more springy than my  OMAS nibs - very pleasant to write with.

Happy writing!

I also own a few scribos!! I was wondering how come there are sooo few threads on these pens, i am assuming that they are relatively new in the fountain pen industry. So far, i have been more than please with them....very nice. My last Scribo feel was a bit of a disappointment however, when I received it..the ring near the nib fell right off. The pen also was coming apart as the piston was not glued on properly. I did think of sending it back but made the fixes my self, after this...the pen wrote like a champ. I will try to post pics of my Scribos here, when time allows me to do so...thanks for the post David!!

Please do share photos of your Scribo pens.

I had not bought any of the Feel models. I found most of the materials uninteresting and the price high. The new "Inverno" model spoke to me though, and I purchased one. The nib will be ground for me, and I should receive it in 2-3 weeks.

Thank you for this thread. My local Pen Posse buddy, @Frank C let me play with his Scribo pens. They are beautiful writing pens.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Photos of the new  Inverno model got me to order my first Scribo Feel. It is a pricey pen for sure, but it is certainly a fine instrument in every respect ... well, it does not score on conventionality of shape.

My latest Scribo is my first "La Dotta" model. The La Dotta is the same as the Feel, except it has a circular cross section rather than having a facetted barrel. The unconventional barrel shape results in a very good balance and a comfortable grip. The rather marked step down to the section has not been a problem - a pleasant surprise. The nib on mine was custom-ground by Annabelle Hiller who has done a splendid job on some half-dozen nibs for me to date.

Thanks for starting this thread!  I have a smattering of other Italian brands in my rotation (Aurora, Leonardo, Pineider) but have never picked up a Scribo IRL, will follow with interest here.

My PC is down; otherwise I'd provide a picture. I have one, a Feel, in the Spiagia Rosa color.

I LOVE the feel of this pen in my hand, it writes wonderfully and I think the look of the pen is unique but beautiful.

If I was younger I'd have a few of these. I think it is great that the former Omas employees went their own way.

A modern classic.

Dear pen enthusiasts, good evening!

I had saved enough and I had a tax refund, so this year I bought my first Scribo from a local pen shop. It's a La Dotta Ai Colli, with a 14k F flex nib. The initial try with a Diamine ink was disappointing at the start, but it got much better after a couple of minutes writing.  Since I filled it with Jacques Herbin's Voilet Boréal it writes very smoothly, even on a cheap note block. As a leftie I experienced Scribo has a perfect assortment for me, so my enthusiasm started to grow.

Last month I decided to buy another one. I had set my mind on the La Dotta Travertino for its rather unique nib finish. At the very last moment I ordered an 18 K Fine nib at Scribo's webshop. Scribo added a 20 ml Mediterraneo ink bottle that makes the pen write very, very comfortably. So, Scribo won another fan, or addict. Scribos, as fas as I can observe, are very solid, sturdy. I you like bigger pens that are not too heavy, this is a pen for you. I think my next Scribo could be the La Dotta Manu Scribere, it depends on how much I will spend next December.

Be aware the Scribo Feel models are facetted, as a consequence the facets on the cap and on the body may not align. Because this bothers me I decided never to buy a facetted pen online. Today, at fountain pen day I saw several Feel models with misaligned facets, what should never happen for a 800 euro pen.

Let's end this post with the pics of my Scribos accompanied by an ebonite Aurora 88 and a vintage OMAS A.M.87. as you see, I'm currently all into Italian pens. The Germans are nice and comfortable, but quite a bit too boring to my taste.

Cheers,

Richard

Richard,

As a fellow leftie I wholeheartedly agree.

I have two Feels and love them. The facets do align on mine.

I'll try and get some pictures on this thread.

BTW beautiful pens.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
