Private Reserve Infinity Ink

The PR "infinity ink" series is represented as having "Extended Cap Off" ability, i.e. you can leave your pen uncapped for prolonged periods ("up to an hour") and the ink will not dry out in the pen, and the pen wll start writing right away again.  Which of course assumes the pen is properly tuned in the first place.

I have done only one test.  I used "Infinity Blue" in a Pelikan M800.  I wrote with it for a bit, then left the cap off for one hour, and wrote again.

On the one hand, the claim is correct .... it did write right away.  On the other hand, the colour had progressed to absolutely black, so some condensation had clearly happened.  So, on that front, I give it a sold "B".

Meanwhile, in terms of just-filled-the-pen performance, it is fairly nice ink.   The :blue" is very close to Parker Quink blue-black in colour, rather than e.g. the BLUE of PR American Blue.  It also has a similar feel to the Quink product, with a bit more feed back (i.e. less lubrication) vs. e.g. PR Midnight Blue or American Blue.  It is a matter of personal taste, but I like a slippery ink.

Thank you for sharing this!  I'm going to give it a try.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).
