I am being similarly cautious with my 1911S Wicked Witch of the West, but how do you suppose Sailor would be able to tell if one had used another manufacturer's ink?

There was a thread not that long ago, I believe about the guy who made Parker Penman inks, wherein we learned that at least some pen manufacturers will do some pretty high-end chemical testing to determine what has been in the pen.  But I don't remember enough to find it.

I'm wondering if it it's just as simple as some chemical that is not normally in Sailor inks that will react badly to to the coating on the nib.  I know that early on I got a Platinum Plaisir (one of the older style ones with the nibs that "matched" the barrel and cap color) and after a couple of years of switching inks and flushing the pen regularly, that coating started to peel off.  Which made me very hesitant to get the Dark Lilac Safari, with its black nib -- until someone (apologies, I forget who it was now) assured me that they'd used a black nib in a Safari for five or six years with no issues whatsoever.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Thank you @LizEF for this review and for the entertaining story paragraph. I hope very much, you will not run out of inks in due time. Can I send you samples?

The dark blue is one more of the highly interesting colours for me. Thank God, the Sailor inks are not to get for a reasonable price here ... B)

One life!

:)  You're very welcome.  Today's and this coming Friday's scene should provide a smile, I hope.

I have enough inks to last until September of next year!  If you still want to send me samples in 8 months, I will happily accept!  (It doesn't make sense to send ink in Winter, so let's talk again in the spring / early summer.)

  Ink #135 (Diamine Deep Dark Blue) may alleviate any disappointment, then.  Or cause you to argue with your bank...

Here's the line width measurement. The line is one of those used for dry time.  Magnification is 100x.  The grid is 100x100µm.  The scale is 330µm, with eleven divisions of 30µm each.  The line width for this ink is roughly 300µm.
