Studio360 Supermarket Ink - Green Tea

A usable ink!? Could it be!?

Well, kind of. This turned out to be my favourite colour of the four I got on promo from Studio360.

Dark green-black which is super comfortable to read but has a bit more interest than black or blue-black.

In an unusual occurrence, I can only use it in EF or F nibs (mayyybe M) since it flows OK but feathers like the rest of them. Full review linked here.

Sheen:0/5
Shimmer: 0/5
Saturation: 4/5
Wetness: 2.5/5
Lubrication: 3/5

And on a totally unrelated note, I got around to nib grinding and customised my first architect nib! Love the process of DIY and making stuff. Now I need the most affordable source to bulk buy steel nibs!!!

Actually that looks to be quite a nice colour. Looking at the water drip test, I think I'd be inclined to dilute it a bit to lighten it up, but I like green/black inks.

What a shame it behaves so badly!

Me too!  And this should, in theory, improve its behavior, but at the expense of lubrication...  I'd hope these Studio360 folk would figure out that all their inks feather and solve that!

Nice color. I, too, like it but as a long-time green tea enthusiast, let me say that it's nowhere near any green tea I've ever seen, bought and/or sipped. A "real" green tea is anywhere between a real green and a real yellow but no blue.

Very nice review!  Thank you for taking the time to do it.  It looks like a nice color as well.

I've never tried modifying ink recipes but may have to do at your recommendations. I'm guessing distilled water would be best?

Couldn't have said it better myself. Ink makers seem to like doing this to colours named after teas. Diamine Earl Grey looks amazing but... sure as heck does not look like anything that we drink.

Yes, and it's best to start with a sample vial, adding water slowly and testing frequently, keeping track of the ratio of ink to water so that if or when you find a ratio you like, you can reproduce it. :)
