Looking for minimal A5 notebook cover

Does anyone have a notebook cover that they really like for thin refills Goulet's or Midori's? I'm looking for something that lays flat and provide just enough protection to keep the cover mostly intact in the month or two of carrying that it would take me to fill the 60 or so pages. I don't mind a pen loop, as long as it does not get in the way of laying flat. Travelers seem to be ticking some of my requirements; I don't particularly like the absolutely unfinished look, but I'm OK with it if it does lay flat effortlessly. Any other good covers out there?

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Those look really nice, and jetpens has them in the US.

It would be worth looking at Kokuyu systemic notebook covers, around $22. I have one, but don't really use it because my notebooks survive well in my backpack. Kokuyu systemic notebook cover on Amazon.

Wow! That goat leather Midori looks beautiful, but it's also definitely outside of my price range (for now, you guys know how these things tend to go). It the paper Midori any good? The Kokuyu is probably a better option than the paper Midori, however. It looks good and seems a lot more sturdy for only $10 more.

I'd reiterate the Kokuyo and Midori covers, as they seem to be hitting your design requirements. I think both of them make less fancy plastic covers that are very thin and also more affordable, so they might be more up your alley. There's also Roterfaden, but those might be outside of your price range as well.

Another option you can look at is buying some cheap canvas in the color that you want and taping it to the book. It's not hard to make such things look pretty good.

Indeed, I think I'm going to go for the Kokuyo, but I'm going to try to see the Midori in person first.
