Who makes oversized pens with large factory stub nibs?

I've realized lately that many of the oversized pens that are out there come in standard sizes, but not the large, stubby nib sizes.

For example, I can get Music nibs from Platinum, Pilot, and Sailor, but not in their oversized pens and only in "medium" sized nibs. Likewise, Lamy gold nibs with their larger pen bodies only come up to B, and you'd have to swap out for a steel 1.1 or 1.5mm stub to get something from them. None of Lamy's nibs are large.

I'm wondering who makes a factory stub in a large pen form factor these days? Off the top of my head, the only one I can think of is Montblanc's 149 with their B and BB nibs.

The type of nibs I'm talking about are specifically large and tipped (not raw steel). I'd expect that they would mostly be gold, but I'd be interested in seeing large steel offerings too, since this seems to be a rare niche.

So what 149, King of Pens, etc. sized pens (or larger) are available with tipped, oversized/large nibs (like a 149 or KoP sized nib or larger) of the stub variety from the factory?

My current guesses:

  • MB 149 B or BB
  • Nakaya Music Nib (smaller nib)
  • Visconti Homo Sapiens 1.3mm stub (smaller barrel diameter it seems)

Most of the others all seem to be closer to a 146, #3776 Century, M800, or 1911L size. So, who else is doing this kind of nib?

Leonardo Momento Zero Grande fountain pens now come with #8 nibs, as do some of their limited editions.

You technically could ask Ranga to fit a Kanwrite B/BB factory stub into a custom-made pen. Kanwrite makes decent nibs.

Edit: These are size 6 though, but they are tipped, which isn't common (as far I know), especially for a steel nib available at 5-6 dollars (without taking into account shipping).

Or Bock/Jowo into one of their larger pens. I have a Bock #8 in a short Majestic. (20mm reduced barrel length)

Add lightness and simplicate.

Do Bock or Jowo have tipped stubs available anywhere?

Montegrappa has #8 nibs on the Extra (not an oversize pen) and also on other models which can be classed as oversized - Ferracina for example.  Then there's the new Chatterley/Montegrappa Legacy Extra Grande, which is nearly as large as the Ferracina.  The 1.1 stubs are wonderful.

Thanks Sansenri for the quote.

I would like to add that the faceted pens they do are very nice, and not common in the actual range of products available in the market.

I like very much the serie with 12 sides, which is very similar to the old Omas production, just bigger in size. And the Omas with 12 sides is still my favourit pen.

Size of Santini Libra and faceted pens is quite big, and nibs are good ones, with possibility of custom adaptations.

I have a Libra in ebonite and a Black Diamond faceted. the Black Diamond has a rose gold nib very nice for my hand and with some flex, even without being a flexy nib. I suppose it could be because of the rose gold, probably more soft than the yellow one.

infact!

my stub is rather flexy (it is defined by Santiny as "flexy stub") and is rose gold (but you can also get a regular stub).
The 12 faceted "Omas like" Santini pens are very attractive and I'm actually considering one! (the 12 sided Omas is one of my favourites too, I have a Gentleman inked this very moment! :))

Regarding size in particular, the Libra is certainly not a small pen

The modern Parker Duofold Centennials had OB etc kind of nibs. The size, while not oversize by modern standard, is still large eough, both the pen and the nib. I am not sure if they still have these nibs in their current lines.

I just copied this from Parker's website:

How Do I Know Which Nib I Currently Have?

Each nib is marked with a unique ID code located in a small indentation approximately half way along the back of the nib.
Use the key below to distinguish which of the 14 nib sizes you have.

EEF: extra extra fine

EF: extra fine

F: fine

M: medium

B: broad

EB: extra broad

EEB: extra extra broad

FO: fine oblique

MO: medium oblique

RMO: medium reverse oblique

BO: broad oblique

FI: fine italic

MI: medium italic

BI: broad italic

I checked with two of the bigger Parker Pen sellers in the USA about this program several months ago. Each said they had never heard of it. There is a link to connect directly with Parker, "if no local retailer is available).

I agree with @como, the modern Duofold is large, but not oversize. They are one of my favorite pens, though. I have several of the made in the UK Duofolds and one made in France.

As you can see from the list, there is no stub nib. They do have several italics and an extra extra broad.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

Montblanc and Lamy 2000 B nibs are essentially stub nibs, more or less, so if the nib says "B" but is really a stub, then that would count in my book.

In my book stub and italic are interchangeable more or less, so if a maker has an Italic nib, I'd count that.

Pelikan makes an OB nib on the m1000 as far as I recall
