Need advice on fountain pen friendly pocket journal

I really like the 600 page Miquelrius soft cover journals those are roughly 6" x 8").  On my last bulk order they topped off the shipment with a small softbound pocket size notebook (slightly smaller than a 3x5 index card; I just did a quick count and appears to have around 120 pages; it's got a page marker sewn in to the binding, a pocket on the back inside cover, and a elastic band to keep it closed.  Not sure what the actual "model" is -- I've lost the paperboard label that kept sliding off.

I've been pretty happy with the Miquelrius paper overall for being relatively fountain pen friendly.

I'm afraid not.  The cardboard with that sort of info came loose from the cover and I may have tossed it in the bag for paper recycling (I did a quick search and didn't find it, and would have to basically dump the entire contents of the bag for a more thorough search; if I dumped it in the regular trash, it's just gone).  And I just downloaded their notebook catalog for 2021 from their website, and was not seeing anything remotely like either the small one or the 600 page journals. :(

I swear by these: https://www.amazon.com/Ecoqua-Pocket-Size-Ntbk-Colors/dp/B00FXTDREE

The paper is made in Italy, natural colored, no bleeding, no see-through, and also good for sketching. Really outperforms Leuchtturm, Field Notes, and the horrible Moleskine.

Haven't tried those, but I have picked up a couple of larger Ecoqua notebooks at my local Dick Blick's, and like the paper -- other than not being a huge fan of dot-grid.  I should see if I can get one with regular lined paper at some point -- but the A5 (I think) size is not super cheap.

A couple of possibilities:

Clairefontaine makes 3.5"x5.5" staple bound notebooks, 48 sheets, 96 pages.

Zequenz also makes 3.5"x5.5" notebooks that are similar to miquelrius but more flexible, 128 sheets, 256 pages; since these are thicker than the Clairefontaine I don't use them in my pockets. The paper seems decent, smooth, checking just now scribbling to put a bunch of ink in one spot there is some bleed through.

Tomoe River: Goulet has 3.5"x5.5" TR, 68gsm, with 32 sheets, 64 pages.

GoodINKPressions - 120 pages, TR paper, 52 or 68gsm in various sizes including pocket and A6.  Click on the "Style" drop-down.

Here's a look at the full line

+1 on GoodINKPressions. Simple, beautiful and you can't beat TR paper in my book.
And for that very same reason I also like Pebble Stationery Pocket notebooks which others have mentioned, especially since I prefer 52 gsm TR over the 68 gsm variant.
Endless also makes pocket notebooks called "Storyboard", using TR 68 gsm, except for the limited edition Farm series, which use their own paper. https://www.madebyendless.com/collections/endless-storyboard-notebook

I also make my own pocket size notebooks with all sorts of Japanese paper, but I don't sell them :)

What is this money pit obsession hole I have fallen into?

What about Oxford notebooks? If it has an Optik paper label it's great for fountain pens, they come in a different brand too, the Blackn' Red line for a more professional looking thing.

Always looking for new ways to downsize my collection.

I discovered that Oxford paper has a proprietary scanning app.  I haven't downloaded it,  but I suspect that is the reason for the corner icons.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
